I feel as though they might have something to do with the "young Ben" scene. 20-year-old Ben feeling alone at a formal party, standing on the edge of the wall of his mother's summer home and staring up at the stars? It also explains why he would be there (because he went to train with Luke, right?) He and Luke might have visited the Solo summer residence for an event of some kind. That sounds exactly what I've been expecting to see as far as flashbacks go.

Yeah, and the junior novelisation says that Chewie has always been better at piloting the Falcon than Han. He just didn't want to hurt Han's feelings!

Yes we shall see! Ren is going to be seduced by Rey, Rey is going to be seduced by Ren.

I actually posted these a while back. No problems with refreshers though, especially with such obvious foreshadowing. So obvious.

I especially love the "by the grace of your training" bit... because where did Ren go at the end of The Force Awakens? To train with Snoke.

OMG, stars! Look at the stars!

 

Stars and Light vs Dark are two of the biggest motifs in Romeo and Juliet... I'm just saying. Stars are huge symbols in that play. That's the kind of thing that doesn't really mean anything on its own, but combined with the Tchaikovsky number we know was awkwardly shoved into The Abduction just as Ren was carrying Ren onto his ship, it all starts to seem pretty undeniably intentional. Plus the reversed Across the Stars theme... come on, it's so clear where the hard-evidence is pointing us, even if some people don't like it. We can only sit back and hope they know what they're doing, because this really could end up being one of the most epic love stories ever...

Speculation, but I had a thought...If the dark side awakened in Kylo Ren as the new info is alluding to, then the light side awoke in Rey? The Force and its will is manifesting itself in different ways in both of them? For what purpose? It might give these few excerpts from the script and movie a deeper meaning...



"Don't be afraid, I feel it too"

I took this as the Force being the energy/feeling, and him being subconsciously drawn to her in this scene. It would be interesting if it is the Force that is trying to bring them together. It also adds to their last fight scene with all the colors switching around and blending together.

We've already discussed a lot of this at length, but I thought it brought a new weight to the discussion. If they are light/dark, then it is the two of them together that would form the yin/yang, gray and balance.

 

Can anyone update me on what's been happening? I've been away for a super long time and I stopped by to check the thread and everyone seems super excited about some new info!!
Most especially, what did Sforza say they had heard/seen? Can someone link me to the post?

In all fairness nobody said the "Dark side awakened in Ren". He was already on the Dark Side... what is there to awaken? No, there was a general Force awakening going on, not specifically Light vs. Dark as separate entities. There's a reason the movie is called The Force Awakens. It's quite clear that we're going to be exploring the true nature of the Force in this Trilogy. Why else bring us to an ancient Jedi temple?

 

Yeah, we'll have an attack-in-the-city scene.

Okay so... Rey will develop feeling for Kylo towards the end of the film? I know I sound like a 13 year old girl when I say this but I was at least hoping she'd feel all confused at least half way through. Sorry showed up REAL late to this get together.

 

The only way I could make it work is if he left Jedi Academy at about 15 or 16 to go to Snoke, dropped Rey off at some point around then, then returned with the KoR to enact the destruction of the jedi students years later, say around age 23. Or, if the . . .

scenes being filmed are actually an assassination attempt on Rey's parents, then I suppose Young Jedi Ben could have been part of a group that swept little Rey off to hide her on Jakku.

But that doesn't quite ring true to me.
