Leia had to say "Someone who loves you" cause Han was temporary blind, but Kylo didn't have to say anything. Unmasking spoke for itself. It's love, people. He doesn't unmask for those he doesn't love.

So, so this.

Moreso than romantic jealousy if FinnTran happens, I can see Rey feeling bummed because she was anticipating coming back to her first "friend", and instead she's unexpectedly finding herself to be a third wheel. And yeah, that could certainly contribute to driving her into the arms of someone else (ahem).

 

Lol I guess other people turned to the dark side for much less!

Yep, leaks are pretty inevitable for a film crew working in a crowded city. Obviously picking and choosing battles is key. The space-horse scene was an easy leak. Clearly they didn't care much if it got out. Kelly Marie Tran's casting also wasn't kept a secret when it easily could have been.

I have to say, in the midst of all this, what I find most upsetting to hear is that some people feel like we can't be objective. This thread is all about objectivity. We analyze the text we were given to work with. We come to conclusions based on tried and true methods of media study. We look at genre, symbolism, metaphor, music, mise en scène, acting, dialogue etc. We very rarely pull things out of thin air.

Despite what some seem to be insinuating, I, for one, don't consider the space-horse scene significant because of giggling or hugging. Boyega and Tran's voices will no doubt be dubbed over it all anyway. It's also possible that this was just a rehearsal. No, what I find interesting is the proximity – the fact that the scene appears to be a bonding moment of some sort between two characters.

That does give us more information about Tran's character. She wasn't just some last-minute casting call. Finn is a main character. If he's going to be riding a space-horse in such close proximity with another character, we're going to get to know that character."

"The point is Tran's character does not appear to be "nobody", and being on a horse with one of the main characters doesn't mean "nothing."

 

I think that this SW is going to have 2 romances - Finn and Tran that'll happen in VIII and Rey and Kylo that'll happen in IX. Finn and Tran are very likely going to be kinked romantically, because there's deliberate choice to put them in very close, intimate situation such as horse riding, where they have to hold onto each other. It's like Kylo coming almost a close as kissing Rey and their very close, face to face sword crossing. Male/female characters are not put in such situation in movies without some hints of romantic possibility.

The movies need Finn and Tran because Rey and Kylo won't get there fast, so someone has to fill obligatory kiss position in VIII.

 

With Ben's dry humour, I can see him being ordered to fix C3p0's arm that he wrecked but out of mischeviousness and cause C3p0 to stress, he made it red to stand out instead of gold. C3-P0 can be exasperating at times (and he was hilarious... except for in AoTC of course)

I dont think it was Ben who put in the red arm tho... I think that certain event happens in a new canon book? But maybe it might hold some significance... Or 3pO's vanity is just being poked fun at in the films lol.

Although I can picture Ben playing Dejarik against 3PO, Ben loses... And he sics Chewie on the poor droid.

Yeah I don't think any Kylo/Rey kissing will happen too soon. But maybe one will end up giving the other mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Which doesn't count as a kiss, but you know it'll be made into a tumblr gif all the same.

I wouldn't blame the stunt doubles for giggling on top of that giant space horse. I would be too.
