Obi-Wan went rushing into the math study lab, throwing his belongings down on the table and tearing off his glasses with a devilish smile. He took note of the fact that his math partner was already there, alone. “OK, Anakin, I knowwe said we’d wait for math camp,” he said excitedly, taking a deep breath, “but I don’t think I can wait any longer. I have to give it to you. Now.”
Anakin whirled around and blushed, surprised. “What, seriously?” he asked, laughing a little. “I mean, I thought we said...”
“I know. I know! But I can’t focus on anything else. It has to be now,” Obi-Wan replied with haste. “There’s no possible way I can wait 3 more days. I’m going to lose my mind.”
Anakin looked around the lab, lowering his voice. “Obi-Wan, part of the reason we were going to wait until math camp…we wanted it to be special…”
“Right, right. In our own room. I know,” Obi-Wan’s expression fell and he sighed. “It’s just, I mean…I just know you’re going to love it. I know I’m going to enjoy giving it to you.”
Anakin smirked. “Oh trust me, I have something really good planned for you, too. I can hardly keep my mind on studying these days, and you know how much I love math.”
“Well then what are we waiting for?” Obi-Wan said, nudging Anakin in the arm. “Go get what you need and meet me back here in 5 minutes. Or…I can just follow you back to your room.”
Anakin paused, thoughtfully, then smiled wickedly. “OK. Let’s do it. Come with me to my room. Just let me finish this banana first.”

“Oh Anakin!” cried Obi-Wan in delight. “This is amazing! A new protractor!? You outdid yourself.”
“I’m glad we did this,” Anakin said, beaming. “This is the most beautiful #2 pencil set I’ve ever seen in my life. And this graph paper is gorgeous. I want to go do some geometry right now!”
“I hope we didn’t spoil the fun of math camp for ourselves by doing our gift exchange before we left,” Obi-Wan said, feeling slightly guilty now.
“Oh Obi-Wan,” Anakin grinned, “I am sure we’ll think of something else to do at math camp to make it special.”

LOL, well for one thing I am a really, really fast typer. The Mathlete posts take...I dunno, maybe a few minutes. It's not something I'm devoting major portions of my day to. Maybe I should be, though.

Pfft, whatever. The world is obviously clamoring for the expanded edition of their trip to math camp. Or at least I can think of a couple people who are.

 

That will be the day where AMJ is an old lady, kids have graduated, husband has retired and your just writing slash in your down time.

I am in the process of catching up with Star Wars Minute and OMG - they had someone who LOVES them on as a guest last week.
That makes two guests out of the last four to somewhat counteract all the usual haterade.

Haven't been in much the past couple of days. Something was getting me down and I decided less internet would be a good solution.

I have made that case. I would say, of the movies I've seen of his:
Star Wars, Life As A House, and Shattered Glass have been excellent and examples of really good acting range. Awake was really good and also showcased some range and New York I Love You was short and cute and good. Jumper, Vanishing on 7th Street were not good, and Outcast and American Heist were terrible.

I refuse to watch 90 Minutes in Heaven since it's about religion and not being in a closet with Hayden for a set amount of time.

Virgin Territory was also terrible, but also kind of in the terrible place I would also put Evil Dead, so it really transcends its own rating.

I can't really disagree with the article. He chooses action movies that are often panned by critics and I would love to see him in some indie art house stuff where he could play to his strengths but he's going where the money is, so that won't be happening anytime soon.

 

My love for you is (still) canon.

Also: I never get tired of getting alerts from Bananakin Skywalker.

I read the book Jumper as a kid and so that may be coloring my perception because I really enjoyed that book.

Overall, I thought the movie was stilted and I never really cared about any of the characters, and I need to do that to enjoy a movie.

 

File this under, stuff I didn't think I would see today or really wanted to, EVER.

 

OK, my kids went to a book fair thing today at their little school. My husband bought them a bunch of stuff. One of them is the Little Golden Book "I Am A Droid", which I just had to read to my younger son and it is hilarious.

My older son picked out Lego Revenge of the Sith for me. It is hysterical. I love it. They put whiny Anakin in a high chair on the Jedi Council.

 

What in the... The count is wearing nipple pasties. Nipple pasties.

 

Ok seriously, this book is amazing:

"Anakin loses the battle with his former friend. Bummed out, he sits too close to the lava and his pants catch on fire."
