Rogue One [Official Info] Vanee (aka Hooded Man or Not Plagueis Not Snoke Not Palpatine) in Rogue One

Okay, this isn't my theory, but I showed my dad the trailer and he thinks that it's Padme's preserved body/corpse in the bacta tank with maybe Vader kneeling in front of her (ignoring the fact that Vader usually doesn't wear cloaks).

 

So Vader wants them to renew their vows, but Padme is giving him the cold shoulder?

 

If that was the case then wouldn't they have found out she'd given birth before dieing???

 

My post was meant to convey how absurd the theory was. Of course it's not her. Her body would have gone straight to her family on Naboo and probably cremated. No way would Vader have it, neither would he want it, and certainly not kneel to it. He is totaly Vader at this point not Anakin Skywalker.

 

This actually made a lot of sense to me.

I agree. But then critics would refer to the PT. I actually liked the Republic Senate scenes in the PT and TCW and wish JJ hadn't cut the New Republic Senate scene.

 

I think it's a tank and Vader's in it. I don't think Palpy is in this movie. Could Vader be healing from his fight with Ahsoka. The timeline doesn't fit right? I don't see a problem with someone kneeling to Vader, didn't that dude in ROTJ kneel to him when he walked off the shuttle? They'll probably cut that scene for the final movie and we'll never know.

But I wouldn't mind seeing someone kneel in from of the dark lord of the Sith. It would be a bit atypical since kneeling is normally reserved for the Emperor from what we've seen previously.

 

Not recommended. Last man to kneel to Vader got a lightsaber through the back and thrown though a window into space.

 

Yea that's right, they kneeled to Palpy. It's funny how you watch a movie a 100 times and things run together.

 

I'll agree I'm not sure if he actually kneels, or if he's simply stepping down some steps. If it's not kneeling, then I would bet strongly that it's Sidious, and that would especially make sense with his red guards standing there. I suppose it might be vader, but IMO that doesn't explain the guards, unless Sidious is in the room somewhere. They are HIS guards-we've never seen them without him, so that implies he should be somewhere in that room or that immediate area...

Unless they are going to try and introduce some NEW darkside character. Which IMO is unnecessarily muddling the Sith-related part of the saga IMO, and opens up a whole new can of worms.

The bacta chamber looking thing? I have NO idea...

 

Question: Do you think the hooded figure is paying his/her respects to someone of exaltedness or actually communicating with them?

If communicating, that would definitely suggest two people with Force powers. The only Force users I can think of that can communicate this way are Skywalkers to Skywalkers. Luke to Vader, Vader to Luke, and Luke to Leia. I still don't know if Palpatine communicated to Anakin just before the Jedi confronted Palpatine...or if Anakin was recalling a prior plea. If he was communicating to him through the Force, I suppose it would make a good case for Palpatine using Plagueis's life creating trick and making Anakin.

 

Where have all the spoilers gone... nothing on the figure and the scene in general....

 

Interest in the anthology films does fluctuate a lot, there is new material revealed but it's so sporadic that people tend to exhaust all the theories and speculation. We need more movie material to be revealed to generate interest!

Wait until at least September and October, and that's when the insanity begins once more, a la The Force Awakens...

 

I think by the time of Rogue One and ANH, Vader has left Padmé behind him for a long time. So I don't buy into that "Padmé in bacta tank" stuff.

A film about Vader coping with Padmé's death would only work if it takes place shortly after ROTS.

 

I hate those YouTube video uploaders that title their video with something like: "HUGE ultra massive plot leak for Rogue One" and all it has is something like the rumour that Vader is in the one in the tank. How the hell is that a plot leak?? Damn click baiters.

 

An interesting thought...at least to me: are the guards there to protect the person in the chamber or to protect others from the person in the chamber? Consider the direction the guards are oriented. Don't guards usually face away from the thing they are guarding?

 

I'm not sure Vader fully dealt with Padme's death emotionally until he blew up Leia's step-dad's entire planet. That probably made him feel better.

I was hoping the new information leaked today would uncloak the mystery of the hooded figure (pun intended ).

 

Wait...I got it. Palpatine's in the chamber. The hooded figure is nothing more than his own robes on a rack, ready for him after his bath.
