Full Series Ahsoka in Rebels

Discussion in 'Star Wars TV- Completed Shows' started by Darth Valkyrus, Nov 6, 2013.

?

What should Ahsoka be like if she turns up in Rebels?

  1. Like she was before the S3 timeskip. Snippy, impulsive, petulant, a little over-agressive

  2. Like she was post-timeskip: Mature for her age, insightful, reserved, able to mentor others

  3. Radically grimdarkened, fatalistic, sarcastic, determinist, but still essentially a good guy.

I just realized how short Ahsoka is ... or is Kanan just tall?

She'd be even shorter than he is without the head crown. I think she's tall enough. She's at least taller than Ezra and Sabine. Not taller than Hera either.

How do you measure Togruta's heights though? Do you measure until the end of their foreheads or until the end of their horns?

That's a good question. We don't really get to see much of them besides of course Ahsoka and Shaak Ti; but at least in the Zygerria Arc of TCW they came in all shapes and sizes.

I figured the different shapes and sizes of horns and head tails were maybe analogous to racial / ethnic differences in humans. Like black people have tight curly hair and full lips, asians have dead straight hair, scandanavians are tall, blonde and blue eyed etc. etc. Something similar probably exists among Togruta.

I'm not sure if I'd go that far. The older togrutans have longer head tails and more extravagant horns. Consider how far Ahsoka's have grown.

I don't think there is any official standard but I was comparing eye levels.

IIRC by the time of TCW S5 Ahsoka was slightly taller than Padme. Not sure if it was eye level or only when counting horns.

It would give us a ballpark anyway. Natalie Portman is 5'3 in real life.

Christensen himself wasn't that much taller than Portman in the PT movies, right? You could use that as a perspective to consider Ahsoka's height. To a lesser extent, Vader; figuring that suit made him taller than Anakin was.

Hayden is about 6 feet exactly.

David Prowse is 6'6". Well, he was at the time the OT was shot. AFAIK he's had surgery in the years since that has knocked a few inches off his height, but his original 6'6" height is what you see in the OT. Possibly plus an extra inch or so when counting the helmet.

One fans theory on why Ahsoka lives. The video isn't mine, I'm just sharing.

Height measurement is done from the top of the head, so in Tano's case, the top point of her montrals.

In canon, Darth Vader's height is dramatically increased due to robot legs i.e why the dark lord towers over everyone.

In regards to the offer Vader made, I didn't get the impression it was genuine. Especially after some of the behind the scenes comments from Filoni.

When one of the execs of the show is putting his personal opinion out there, it's hard not to think that he wouldn't intend for the show to align with the opinion.

He had consistently said that Vader hates the man he used to be as being weak, having failed to save Padme, and failing in his confrontation with Obi-Wan. He hates himself. So when people like Ahsoka show up and remind him of his past, he gets furious.

Filoni explained this in a couple interviews and I think also mentioned it in a Rebels Recon.

So it's hard for me to see that offer is genuine, if someone overseeing the he show says he hates her for the life she reminds him of.

On the slight chance his ploy works and she assisted the Empire, she would have been executed when her usefulness ran out.

I think Vader sees how her skills have only grown since they last met, and realizes what a powerful ally she would be. She is stronger than any of his inquisitors, and could likely defeat the Jedi as well. Were she to turn, I think it would drastically alter Rebels and ANH. She could kill Kanan, Ezra, and Luke in my opinion. Were Vader and Ahsoka paired again, they'd be nearly unstoppable based on the known force users during this era. Luckily, she remains a pure force user - not attached to the trappings of the Jedi or the Sith.

For me it would depend on whether Vader's pragmatism trumps his rage or vice versa. If his calculating side wins and he manages to turn her, she serves as basically a top tier Inquisitor swooping around the Galaxy crushing rebels, a long, long way away from Vader. If his anger wins, he was just trying to get her off balance and distracted. In either case, should she turn him down, it's skewerin' time.

I think is offer was definitively insincere, I don't think even him believe the emperor would ever show her any kind of mercy, he would want to kill her right away because she was a former Jedi and too powerful to just turn her.

So anyone else excited for the untold Ahsoka panel at Celebration? I'm hoping we get to learn more on how she became Fulcrum and the Mandalore arc.

If they revealed they are releasing the Final Clone Wars arc in full animation, that would be the best news ever!

Yes, indeed, i hope they live stream that panel. It will be around 5 am my time but i'm game ;) I think they'll focus more on the Ahsoka novel and what's in there, but maybe that novel also alludes to all the untold Clone Wars episodes. I would guess it does not have full details on those stories but important bits and pieces. I think the purpose of the novel is to show how she became Fulcrum so they'll probably save most of that for the readers but they'll give us hints about what to expect during the panel.

As far as revealing a release for the untold story arc that was the planned finale of TCW (Siege of Mandalore), i mean wow, that would be a great surprise and shock. I think unfortunately it is a long shot at this point judging by the information we've gotten of late from Pablo Hidalgo via Twitter. Hopefully the long game pans out and we'll get it some day.

I just hope it doesn't end up as a novel or comic. We need to witness the action with our own eyes. Even if it's the only arc that gets animated, I'll still be happy. There are too many questions that need answering.
