All fair. My friend, I get it. No one is ever going to accuse me of going to bat for, or stanning for TFA. I know you have your issues with it and I get it.

I'm just sayin': this is the thread for being nerds for the PT, something that gets dumped on all the damn time by smug nerds. Also, people I like loved TFA, and I....sort of detest people who crap all over the PT all the time or play off every thread where they troll the forum as Just Their Intellectual Discourse about Why We Have Terrible Taste OMFG CG and Dialogue and Hangars Oh My.

I strive to be less of a jackass than that. If I go there every time the chance arises, I'm no better than that. That's all.

 

So how's everybody doing? Any fun plans this weekend?

It's called hypocrisy.

 

I try my best not to dump on TFA. There's no sense in bemoaning something I don't like when there are 6 films I do like, plus a fantastic animated TV show to me. Not to mention all of the various EU material I enjoy.

 

I don't think we'll ever agree on most film topics anyway. Your taste is very very different to mine.

 

And that's perfectly OK!

 

UGH I wish I had the stamina to stay up late. I want to watch BvS again but I know I'll fall asleep.

 

Uh, uh, it was meant as a joke post.
You know like how you and others do it? With Obi Wan being eternally sad and Anakin being like "sure I'll kill Dooku".

well I would call it an opinion as opposed to outright hypocrisy.

Having an opinion is fine (whether or not you think TFA is crap or great) it becomes hypocrisy when you can't handle criticism when yourself have just criticized another movie yourself, that's when it's a problem. I see the great and flaws in ALL Star Wars movies and don't mind discussing them, it makes me no less of a fan when I see something that doesn't seem to add up or if I think something could have been done better.

Heck I even see flaws in my favourite all time movie, makes me no less of a fan.

Also, for the record: I love you all, a lot, but my goodness. This is not something start posting side-eyes and peaceing out over. My post had a smiley face in it, for goodness' sake. I'm not angry. I wouldn't expect anyone else to be angry. If anything, I was trying to keep things light.

Edit: the only people who should feel called out by my post are the people who've trolled this forum over asinine inconsequential BS in the prequels for the last decade-plus. I mean, I understand Anakin's Turn personally horrified them and they'll never recover and it set fire to their homestead and murdered their mentor in front of their face and all, but still. Get a grip.
