What about Aldis Hodge?

He was on that show 'Leverage' and played MC Ren in Straight Outta Compton. I haven't seen his new show 'Underground' but I think he's a very capable actor.

He's 30 right now but BDW is 10 years older than Harrison Ford anyway.

 

A better choice than Glover, IMO.

 

I think Terrence Howard would be a good Lando. He's so suave in the looks and style, reminiscent of Billy Dee.
The only issue is that he's 47. He might be too old. But he doesn't seem that old. And he's a damn good actor.

 

Chadwick Boseman?

 

Waaaaay too old.

 

Michael B. Jordan would've been ideal. I reckon I'd be happy with Glover though.

 

I feel like whomever they cast should be around Alden's age. Now I can picture Lando being somewhat older than Han sure (and Billy Dee is older than Harrison). But I never pictured him as being THAT much older, like maybe 5-6 years at most.

 

But he has a real baby face, and can pass for much younger. He'd be great, IMO, and much better than either Glover or Jordan.

Doesn't have to be around Alden's age. Just needs to look to be around Alden's age.

 

Maybe 10 years ago, or however old that picture is, but these days I'd say if anything he'd be up for the role of an older Landon.

I'd say he is a spiritual successor in some ways, but I say the same about Glover.

No chance would I believe he's a similar age to Alden who is 26, I love Terrance I really do but no way is he a young Lando.




Just look at these two - they look like they are in the same age group.

 

Another Lando casting suggestion - Shameik Moore.

He was great in 'The Get Down' and 'Dope', he might be too young at 21 y/o though?

 

Howard still has a baby face. If he lost some weight, and they applied a little makeup, he'd make a great young Lando, IMO.

 

Probably someone that Spielberg likes and/or discovered. Seems to be a trend!

 

Someone new on the scene who has one hot performance out there.

The movie is just going to ooze charm and sexiness, if they do it right. We are due for a Sexy Star Wars Movie, surely.

Only problem is he's got TV commitments (the new 24 show and The Walking Dead).

If only Anthony Mackie was younger he'd be perfect.

 

I like the Donald Glover idea. He's 32 but with his energy and charisma definitely comes across as younger, like 27/28ish. I think he could play a really entertaining Lando.

 

Glover, for me, has too much of a "dorky" vibe to play Lando (though perhaps he could prove me wrong). Unless, perhaps, Lando wasn't as smooth back in the day?

 

That's the issue for me too, his character from Community is hard to shake in my mind.

I'd like the producers/casting people to find someone a bit less known, I think it helps you suspend your disbelief a bit better when you don't know the actor very well.

 

I gotta say though, Glover does look like a young Lando.

 

Seeing Lando would be great, seeing their friendship and how it started and all the trouble they got themselves in.

 

BDW is 6 years older than Harrison Ford, so in that sense, Glover is the perfect age to play Lando with Alden's Han.

 

The exact age of the actor isn't super important as long as they don't look the wrong age.

Of most importance to me is how well they can act and embody the spirit of the character.

 

Ohh I've been watching The Get Down and I think he'd be perfect. Of all the suggestions so far I think he'd nail Lando's personality the best. I don't think it's a big deal that's he younger too. He and Alden don't look far apart in age at all.

 

Yeah, I'm consistently baffled at how fans focus on the real ages of actors/ actresses when considering casting choices. Actual ages are not only hard to guess (I suspected that Alden is older than he actually is), but it's very easy to age people down or up a few years with a bit of makeup.
