Then Darth Vader comes and ****s everything up.

Why was Galen not in the trailer? Because he is a bloodied and beaten imperial prisoner.

 

Go back and watch the meadow scene in AOTC. As silly of a scene as it can be, Anakin's sarcastic, dry humor seems to be in line with Vader's in the OT:

"Alright, I get the picture."
"Maybe he was the smart one."
"I like two or three, but I'm not really sure about one of them."

And later in the film... "I am a slow learner."

 

Guess he had his sarcasm training wheels on back then.

He's being executed (maybe in front of Jyn. Let's say she shows up just as soon as he's going to die) for treason against the Empire, and sending out that coded signal.

Maybe Vader cuts him down.

Well we see Baze and Chirrut and Jyn and Cassian on Eadu so probably not.

 

If the flashback takes place during the Clone Wars, why is Krennic wearing an Imperial outfit..? And does that mean the Deathtroopers are clones or what?

 

It probably means it doesn't take place during the Clone Wars.

 

Considering Jyn's age, when else would it take place?

 

in the clone war tv shows 'republic' adimirals wear imperial outfits.

 

We don't know exactly how old Jyn is but I'd guess early to mid twenties. She's probably around 7 or 8 in the flashback so that would put it in the early Imperial era.

 

All that could mean is that he's been at the base for a long time.

The cap is the only part that throws me. They seem to use it to indicate a younger krennic in the first flashback, but it could just be that its raining on eadu.

I think it's probably "current" time, but since neither seemed to age I'm not sure.

Mads said that we see Jyn at ages 4, 8 and adult.

So, Krennic's first visit is at the height of the Civil Wars. The Republic needs help to defeat the Separatists. I think this has been leaked in a summary of a coming book.

So, Krennic comes to visit flanked by Clone Troopers. With real helmets. That would be pants wetting. He gets knocked back "it's too dangerous yadda yadda".

On the second visit Krennic has the Death Troopers, and no one is asking nicely anymore. Nothing even needs to be said. They both know the new rules.

But, hey, just a couple of Clone Trooper costumes rented from 501st cosplayers. Easily done.

 

I hope Krennic gets to scream "POWER!! IMMEASURABLE POWER!!!!"

 

rewatching the trailer the part where he says that to vader he seems to be pacing....fretting. not just fretting because vader is in front of him either.

and the words almsot feel like he's afraid the rebel spies will steal the weapon rather then destroy it. yeah very doubtful i know.

 

I'd love to know Vader's reply you that line. Hopefully not the "technological terror" one again.

Well Edwards mentioned JEJ's chilling use of the word "power" when he recorded his scenes. Maybe it's during this conversation.
