It looks like Warwick Davis's new character might be a Partisan as well

I'm quite pleased with the screentime of Edrio and Benthic Two Tubes. I was worried they'd just be background characters, but there was more dialogue than I had expected. Does Beezer Fortuna speak? I've only seen it once, and can't remember.

I was also excited by how much Two Tubes had to do in the film. He essentially ran the militia forces in the field. He was also on the brutal side in terms of his bedside manner.

I saw it again last night and I don't believe Beezer said anything. If he did it was background chatter that didn't get subtitles.

I was disappointed that Moroff didn't get more scenes- he had cool design. Like a white wookiee with mask and minigun- so cool yet wasted character. I wonder if those X-wing pilots seen in the trailer being arrested on Jedha were also partisans- there is X-wing in the middle of the street and that scene I mentioned was edited so I wonder if there was originally more scenes with partisans but they ended up being edited- Moroff also appeared on Scarif on some shots so I wonder if he originally survived the Jedha's destruction or something.

Edrio and Benthic were cool though and Warwick Davis' character Weeteef Cyubee or something

I went out and bought the Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide at Barnes & Noble. I highly recommend it if you're like me and love background details and character bios.

Edrio & Benthic get a nice 2 page spread as does Pao and Bistan

Saw's Militia also gets a nice spread with multiple mini-bios and images.

Moroff was originally a Rebel crew soldier named Senna - which I believe explains his appearance on Scarif in bts photos.

    Official Insurgents:
    Saw Gerrara
    Benthic Two Tubes
    Edrio Two Tubes
    Moroff
    Weeteef Cyu-bee
    Beezer Fortuna
    Kullbee Sperado
    Cyced Ock
    Leevan Tenza
    Euwood Gor
    Magva Yarro
    G2-1B7

If you are all interested I can write up notes on each fighter from the bios provided in the book.

I want that book:cool: I heard rumors Saw's partisans (or at least Saw) are going to appear in Rebels, too bad that show is aimed for younger audience so they may not do much terrorist stuff but there is more possibilities to see Moroff or other cool partisans in action. I wonder if Beezer has connection to Cham Syndulla's rebel cell on Ryloth? Of course he is twi'lek but it doesn't necessarily mean he has connection to Ryloth but surely he could.

I'll bullet point Beezer Fortuna's write-up since I'm not sure of the rules for posting this stuff

    - Cousin to Bib Fortuna, hates that his family is into organized crime
    - Politically Minded individual
    - Inspired by Cham Syndulla's campaigns during the Clone Wars
    - Freed from Imperial custody by Saw Gerrera
    - He's a key strategist in the insurgency on Jedha

    Seems like a fun character

It is indeed a great book worth getting. I just discovered that actor Simon Farnaby plays pilot Farns Monsbee (Blue Five). I'm familiar with Simon primarily from the show The Mighty Boosh, and the movie Bunny and the Bull. I'm wondering if Jedha civilian Nik Hepho is played by John Knoll. So many great designs and characters in this film.

Something I noticed at the Partisan base, as everyone runs outside - we see a mass of Partisans running into the courtyard that also seems to act as the hangar (at least one X-wing visible), but when K-2S0 shows up with the U-wing the only people seen are the Rouge one team. The X-wing has also disappeared.

So I guess the question is, where did they all go? Was it simply a mistake in not showing them, or did some/all of the Partisans less Saw evacuate somehow?

Good question, there does seem to be an editing mistake in that they all seem to just disappear. I like to think that some of them made it out, with a few even joining up with the rebel alliance later. On Scarif, we hear a few rebels shouting "For Jedha!" so perhaps it was one or two? From the behind the scenes footage, Moroff was on Scarif at some point, now whether that was because Moroff used to be a design for Senna (a big alien that was originally part of the main cast) or he left Jedha and joined them later is unknown at this time.

They seemed such an unsavoury bunch, more scum and villainy than our usual rebel alliance folk like Crix Madine. We get a great look at a few of them in the Visual Guide (which I'd recommend).

Oddly enough Wookieepedia claims that Benthic and Edrio Two Tubes escape with other partisans.

Are all of the Partisan at Saw's base at the time?

Some of them must have made it out since we last see them bustling about the X-wing and then it is gone in the next scene. Maybe they also had a transport somewhere? If not, you would think those who were left would have at least tried to get a lift in the u-wing, but we see no sign of them by the time it arrives.

redxavier I figured the "For Jedha" to be more like "Remember Pearl Harbor" - the Rebel shouting it didn't necessarily need to have been there, just to have heard about it. I do need to pick up the VG.

Cantina Regular Is there a source for that or just conjecture? Multiple confirmed survivors implies that there were more ships there than the single X-wing seen.

Django Fett I suppose I should have specified, survivors from the base when Jedha gets hit. Anyone off-world or maybe even just on the other side of the moon would have survived.

Torib That's a good point about the U-wing, I didn't think of that. They have at least two X-wings, the one at the base and the one crashed in Jedha, so I assume they have some sort of light freighter or yacht to aquire spare parts and munitions. The question is was it on - planet at the time.

Yeah I think the hint of an X Wing was a shorthand way to give the partisans a way out.

If you want Two Tubes to survive, and I certainly do, then he did.

    Whoops, sorry about that mods.

Django Fett I figured something other than the Alamo, since we're assuming some of them lived. The Alamo was a wipeout.

Where does the six X-wings number come from? Does that include the crashed one?

The Ultimate Visual Guide says six and they're not all operational at the same time, due to limited spares. They swap parts around to keep as many flying as possible.

Point 1 - Could be a rally cry, could be a partisan. They were with the Alliance before falling out, Jedha's destruction could have brought the stragglers back

Point 2 - I've been researching it. If I find anything cohesive I'll post it here.

Point 3 - Per the Visual Dictionary Edrio Two Tubes was the leader of Saw's X-Wing squadron dubbed the Cavern Angels - so they had a ragtag fleet of fighters available. They got to Jedha somehow since they originated on Onderon so they must have a shuttle of some kind

And our threads merged and are now more powerful! How exciting

The Wookiepedia article says the Empire labeled them as terrorists because of civilian casualties. However, we don't have any proof they targeted civilians. If they didn't target civilians, then we perhaps shouldn't label them terrorists. They're definitely guerrillas.

Okay, so we know six X-wings that don't always fly, and some sort of larger ship that moved them from Onderon/can do spare parts runs for the X-wings. Mark one X-wing as lost (Jedha crash). A minimum of one is unusable, as it is being canabalized for parts, possibly more. So a maximum of four Partisans could have escaped in X-wings.

Maybe a minimum of two more in whatever shuttle or freighter they have? I'd assume more but I guess that makes six Partisans surviving a safe bet.
