Rogue One The Easter Eggs and Cameos of Rogue One

I was so not expecting Bail Organa and I gasped out loud when he stepped forward. I didn't notice Chopper or the Ghost, I'll have to keep an eye the next time I watch it.

I thought Tarkin was done really well and surprised at how big a part it was. And that ending

 

I bet that cheer was when Red Leader appears. There was a similar cheer in our screen. It was wonderful and appropriate to have Red and Gold leaders. Of *course* they would be at the Battle of Scarif.

I also spotted a Spacetrooper like the ones in ANH. There is at least one floating around in space at the Scariff shield.

 

Don't know if this was intentional or not, but the 'planet rings' shown at the very beginning looked sort of like the title scrawl in the other Star Wars movies. Before I knew what I was looking at, I thought what I was seeing the underside of the scrawl or something.

 

Because of the shadow partially blocking the rings, the visible part is actually triangular shape....resembling a star destroyer looming into frame. it's not until it pans out a bit that you see it's rings. I'm betting it was a deliberate choice to (visually) echo the beginning of ANH in a real subtle way.

 

Anyone know who the hooded figure was standing infront of the bacta tank?

Just saw it a second time.

For those who complained about R2 and 3PO's cameo, put those complaints away. Yes it was after Raddus left, but he had only left for his ship, his ship hasn't gone anywhere as of yet, and the fighters are only starting to scramble.

It takes time for everyone to get organized and ready to jump to hyperspace to Scarif, so obviously there was time for Leia and the droids to get aboard the Tantive IV and dock with Raddus' flag ship.

 

I need the Bluray ASAP... I need to obsessively pause in a lot of scenes to try to find the missing reference to 1138.

There is a lot about that that still doesn't sit right to me.

Honestly that makes it even more of a stretch. Raddus is getting ready to go bring the hurt on Scariff when Bail says "hey, hold up a second I'm got to get my daughter and a couple of droids and put them in your ship's docking bay for...reasons..."

 

Scarif is very close to Tatooine, at least.

 

To bring a jedi into the fight...I don't think just random reasons fit like you describe.

Obviously there are those who remember the impact a jedi can have.

They all knew the mission had a slim chance which is why the Council didn't back it in the first place. It took a Rogue group of Rebels to get the Alliance off their butts and info action. Raddus was one of the few who was behind the mission when Jyn told them about the plans, so when he heard that a group of Rebels wad trying anyway, he was going to support them.

Bail also knew the slim hopes and the need for Obi-Wan and sent his adoptive daughter to show Obi-Wan how desperate the situation was.

IMO,it all fits perfectly!

When Bail said that he would return to Alderaan to warn his people of the war I almost choked up.

 

Imperial Officer in ESB played by Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett). Hes the guy that uses Leia as a shield on Cloud City when Luke it trying to pursue.
