As far as I can tell, it's not anywhere to be found in that book.

Apparently, this was added by an anon because some Reddit editor claims the Polish edition mentions the Zakuul Empire. I'm calling bull feces.

Poland has it own canon :p

The first two sentences: "The Unknown Regions: The western branch of the galaxy still remains unexplored. It is here where the mysterious Empire of Zakuul was located centuries ago."

Considering that it's still just this one guy on Reddit, I'm more inclined to believe in Photoshop than in Poland having its own version of the book.

Poland: Does it contradict the NeU?:p

As long as Poland doesn't contradict Germany, everything should be fine... ;)

Weird... Although it definitely doesn't "count", that still warrants a footnote on the Wook page.

Hey guys, OP from Reddit here. If I post the video of the book you will believe me? Sorry for the confusion, I had no idea UK and/or US is different from Polish edition. It never happened. I'm huge fan of everything Star Wars, from EU and SWTOR to the new canon and I love when they bring EU stuff into new media so when I stumbled upon "The Empire of Zakuul" I posted on reddit immediately.

The preview page for the UK version on amazon.co.uk doesn't mention Zakuul on that page.

Maybe the Polish translators didn't get the final version of the text? Or someone on the translation team is the fan of the games.

It's not beyond reason that there would be some local text differences. Given that some of the art in that book is from google, somebody doing localization may have looked up unknown regions and found a Zakuul reference.

This is another reason why I'm glad I left my encyclopedic mentality behind with Legends. Doesn't help Wook folks who have to sort it out but at least I can go my merry way and ignore it.

Don't worry, can confirm it's in the Polish edition. (Thanks for bringing this to my attention!)

Does anyone here have the American Edition? Apparently it was updated to include Rogue One stuff? Could have been something added in the 2nd Edition.

There's people that really want SWTOR/KOTOR to be nu-canon. It won't though, the most they'll do is pick it apart and see what they like and only put that in. Even if you were to have Zakuul, it wouldn't be the same Zakuul. Same way this Thrawn isn't really like the original. Still hoping for them to make it official that the divergence comes from the KOTOR2 Dark Side ending though...

Well, Poland has a 96% alcohol beverage. They sure are a cool country. I believe their canon.

The US edition is exactly the same as the UK edition, bar the spelling - there's no difference in the content.

Writer of the Atlas responded to my tweet (I asked Pablo about the whole situation): https://twitter.com/iucounu/status/811973938108657665

How did this happen? Some nerdy translator decided he wants to change canon? This is pathetic.

Just picked up Galactic Maps as am not really thrilled with it. Seems more just bullet points on people and events than an in depth reference that The Essential Atlas was.

The one plus I can see about it is on the Endor page that has DP20 Gunships. So this and the Star Wars comic bring the gunship back for us.

I would actually like to see something more like the old Essential Atlas but done in volumes. Vol. 1 would do The Core and then additional volumes for each area. Followed by maybe volumes covering the various localized governments like the history of the Mandalorians, the Tion, the Hutts, etc...

That sounds like a good idea, if they do hope we will get illustrations of the planets landscapes, people and animal life like in The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons

So, there was an Entertainment Weekly map for Rogue One (here). However, it seems that Eadu is missing. Any ideas where they left this planet?
