There's a ton of dialogue referring to the Falcon as a piece of junk, a bucket of bolts, etc. I think that colors people's memories of the Falcon. I love the subtle moment in ANH where Han says to Luke and Obi-Wan 'I've made some special modifications myself ...' and Obi-Wan gets this sly grin on his face that just screams 'Oh, I just BET you have ...' Great stuff.

Anyway, the first time I saw the new trailer, I thought Luke used The Force to activate the Falcon, but I think he does something with his left hand.

I think it would be really cool if we saw Luke piloting the Falcon so... I hope it's him.

I think Luke will be flying that underwater X-wing from Ach-to. It's too strong an ESB callback not to show it being lifted with the Force. And we know Rey leaves Ach-to in the Falcon with Chewie (we've seen her in the pilot's seat in her Crait costume).

So that leaves the X-wing as Luke's ticket off Ach-to.

rey has the bruise in the images in which she's in the falcon in her "final costume." so i don't actually know if she does leave ahch-to on the falcon.

it honestly could be she leaves with kylo, chewie leaves on the falcon, luke leaves on his x-wing. this seems like something in desperate need of a carpool but it's possible.

i agree luke has to leave on his x-wing.

I, for one, hope it is Luke flying the Falcon. It looks to be an almost impossibly good pilot, maybe one that's very experienced in force enhanced space combat......It would fit the bill of seeing Luke be a badass, which I'm more sure of than ever after the new TV spot. I think we're all still going to be in for some good surprises come December 15, and if I'm right, I bet you never hear a whoop in a theater like you will for this one! Getting sooooo stoked!!

There's actually no reason why it can't be both. Luke could raise his X-Wing and leave in it AND be the one performing all the crazy stunts in it on Crait, though something tells me it might by Poe who is flying it there. His costume is a call-back to Han in ESB, and notice the new 'yelp' from Finn when he sees the MF in action. It could be a call-back to his admiring Poe's skills in TFA.

I see his hand moving but I don't see him flipping a switch or anything. Personally I think he's using the Force.

If he was using the Force he wouldn't need to move his hand or arm or anything. He's flipping a switch.

They often use hand movements to convey to the audience that a character is using the Force. Example: think of all the times they raise their hands to send battle droids flying.

I don't want this to be taken as a negative comment but as a discussion point. Is it just me or since we have now seen more of Luke in the trailers than in TFA is it losing the suspense somewhat? I'm kind of feel like we are suddenly seeing way to much and think I would have preferred it to be revealed in the film. Maybe its just to much grumpy Luke, I hope he gets to flash a smile or two in TLJ.

It'd be kind of cool if he's become so powerful that he doesn't have to. Like he just nods/moves his head slightly and that's all it takes.

Their individual transportation to all end up at the same place is so economically irresponsible. Terrible role models.

If we weren't seeing much Luke, this thread would be having a meltdown. :p

They're showing Luke in a pretty low state and we can hopefully assume that things get better for him over the course of the movie. So while it's nice to see so many glimpses of him in the trailers, I'm still looking forward to seeing him be "SO COOL" as Daisy described way back when. :)

I'm hoping Luke flies the Falcon by using the Force while siting on the nose of the Falcon with his legs crossed in a meditative state. The cold vacuum of space doesn't bother him. He's already cool.

I believe he used the Force in that scene. He then touched the panel behind in typical "call to memory" gesture. The scene itself suggest he used the Force due to its perfection. Luke came in, started to look around and everything turned on. Its too epic to be just simple manual turn on.

Few pages back I suggested the same. I'm betting Kylo kidnaps her and is why the Knights of Ren distract Luke. Luke is brought back into the story being forced to fly the Falcon to rescue her.

kylo can't kidnap rey again! rey is past that point. she would not allow it. she has training now and practice.

vader tried to kidnap luke in ESB but he failed. vader may have had the advantages but luke had enough training at least not to be captured.

I think the "so cool" will come in when he shows up at the climax of the film to save the day on Crait.

Oscar also talked about how cool it was to see Mark toward the end of the movie. So that is where we are likely to see his big moments.

Kylo kidnapping Rey seems awfully repetitive, unless he has backup. Doesn't make sense. He overpowers her once and kidnaps her. Then she kicks his butt, and this is BEFORE any training. Then he comes back and kidnaps her again? Doesn't pass the smell test for me, at least not if it is one-on-one.

It would be weird seeing Luke fly the Falcon... Han, Lando, Chewy, Leia (In Empire?) Rey etc all have - but not Luke.
