We need a voice over for that scene showing Luke remembering the old days.

 

I really hope he won't pull "Always wanted to fly this thing" line like Solo did with Chewi's crossbow.

Hated that line from Han. Regarding Luke, its funny but I dont actually think of Luke as a pilot but that is what he first started as at the end of ANH. I guess the whole jedi/force took over with his story and him being a pilot took a back seat. I think him flying the falcon would look/feel weird

 

Luke: "There's a cockpit I haven't seen in a long time, a long time. I have't seen this cockpit since, oh, before ____ was born"

 

Luke didn't have to deal with stuff like this at all until ROTJ. And there, 2/3 of the time it was intentional on his part (as part of a bigger plan).

So yeah, I agree that it'd be repetitive and unnecessary.

I don't think Rey gets captured, i believe its Luke who gets captured or Rey goes willingly

 

Two things: what's with Luke's creepy, moving like a hooded ghost shtick. You see it when he first turns around to Rey in TFA and walking into the Falcon cockpit in the TV spot. Like he's out of it. Weird.

Anyways, reading the new Luke Skywalker book. No spoilers, just an observation. The same observation I had after the Bloodline book. The LFL/SG peeps may have really outdone themselves working on KK's "who is Luke Skywalker?" I really get the sense Luke, at his core, is the old Luke we love so much, but there's this layer of complexity (probably due to the mental taxing of the events of ROTJ and his early Jedi/force research) and heaviness that I think leads (plus the obvious events with Ben Solo) to the broken man we see in TLJ. Yet, I think we're really in for a treat with Luke's knowledge, wisdom and perspective. As a result, we may be doubly intrigued with the force and we may view things much differently, and deeper. I don't think Luke is done actively participating in The Fight, but it's just going to be different. Picture OT Yoda somehow becoming active again rather than PT Yoda.

It's late. I'm having a hard time articulating what I mean, but I'm just getting this gut feeling we're in for a pleasant surprise with our favorite last jedi going forward.

 

We talk quite a bit of these movies rehashing the past, but the idea of Rey getting captured and transported away again by Kylo Ren after the last movie did that exact thing really takes the cake in ripping off plot points. That's not an echo or a rhyme, that's a copy. So it's best if that doesn't happen like that.

 

It could also be the crew found out Luke was going to use his saber. So they all crashed the set packed in like sardines.

 

I want Luke to fly the Falcon like this:

I think that's more likely (assuming Kylo actually does show up in the flesh on Ahch-to lol). There's all this spec that Rey gets on the Supremacy because she goes with Kylo but I don't see how he'd actually leave without Luke in that case. Whereas I can see him leaving without Rey if he's somehow captured Luke instead.

I wouldn't be surprised by some story angle where things are rough between Luke and Rey and she's disillusioned with him and struggling with her training, and then Kylo shows up with force, and to Rey's surprise Luke gives himself up in a way that lets her and the others escape. And then she gets herself on to the Supremacy later to rescue Luke or something.

 

Yeah thats kind of where Im at, also Reys Jedi garb is a bit of a red herring as well, if shes captured why would she or even how could she change to into her Jedi gear, most of the stuff on Ach To (spelling ?) And the action type shots we've see there shes in completely different attire. Also another point is whos the bigger prize really for Kylo to prove himself to Snoke ? 100% thats Luke.

 

I think Mark would have rioted if he hadnt gotten that chance

The trailers and interviewing have been showing a very specific side of Luke. They’re not goving us the whole picture, either re him or re his relationship with Rey. They’re not being subtle about it.

 

Would be Luke "getting captured" or would it be Luke allowing himself to be captured though? Because 1. He kind of has a track record of doing that, and 2. I find it hard to believe that Kylo could overpower him unless Luke let him do so.

 

Yeah, I don't buy the Luke is captured scenario and I don't see Luke turning himself in to Snoke unless Rey is already there and captured

Quite possible, I doubt Luke would want to fight his nephew.

 

Last time Luke was on top of the Falcon he'd just been battered by Vader, had his hand cut off and had fallen through the bottom of Cloud City....it may bring back some bad memories.

 

Well, we dont know for sure that was the last time. I mean Im sure he was in it at least once before it got stolen.
