I really hope Jocasta is going to survive this arc without killing herself. I hold onto the slight hope that Palpatine needs her alive for her knowledge.

After three issues of exposition we finally get an epic fight scene again. Let me get my beer and popcorn and watch this unfold....oh wait, the Last Jedi isn't for another two weeks :(.

I'm curious [and also just blindly jumping into this thread]

I just finally caught up on this series -- and was wondering -- it seemed in other sources - Palpatine mentioned that the remaining Jedi were of no concern to him. In some sources - we see the Purge.

Can anyone clarify what the NEU stance on wiping out the remaining Jedi is -- was it done by Inquisitors, Clones, Assassins, or Vader himself? And - did Palpatine ever go out to polish his saber?

In Lords of the Sith, Palpatine and Vader are forced to evacuate their Star Destroyer and land on Ryloth. There at least, Palpatine uses his saber - not just having Vader do all the fighting. No Jedi adversaries, but lots of aggressive wildlife.

So, it seems that everyone nowadays hates Master Nu's guts. I don't, and I'm starting to feel very isolated. :p

I don't hate Jocasta's guts. I admire her gumption. We still don't know how she escaped the Temple when Vader and the 501st marched on it, but it must have taken quick thinking to hide those artifacts from the enemy and then evade them skilfully.

I will say this though. Jedi Master Jocasta Nu is disobeying the Jedi Council by returning to the Temple.

After receiving this explicit warning from Master Kenobi, what does Jocasta do but return to Coruscant and enter the Temple itself. Exactly what the Jedi Council ordered all survivors not to do. Arrogant indeed. Brave, courageous, and even wise, but still arrogant. Madame Jocasta should have heeded the Jedi Council's directive and remained hidden on her desolate sanctuary planet.

The preview looks awesome, however why there are guys in Imperial uniforms already piloting the speeder?

It feels like this whole transformation of the Republic into the Empire happened too quickly in this series. I understand they want to show iconic Imperial imagery, but then they should have jumped this series a bit more after ROTS. It would also fit better with the Inquisitorius already being established and with Jocasta having her little school prepared.

Thanks -- I guess my answers are all coming soon. And I sure would have preferred Jocasta just becoming one with the Force when Anakin rolled through the temple -- or by just standing still and taking it peacefully.

But as long as she dies a miserable death... I never liked her!

The first page of the preview, Vader reminds me of a dog standing on the back seat of a car with his head out the window.

Ugh, I was hoping we would get a name for the GI when Jocasta confronted him :( Looks like no one in the Order knew this man...Jocasta doesn't recognize him, Vader doesn't recognize him. Did the Temple Guards leave their masks on indefinitely that no one would have ever seen his face? That seems silly to me, as there would really not be an internal need for the secrecy. I get having ceremonial masks and what not, but the Order was a brotherhood...these people would have grown up in the Temple with peers who would have maintained some sort of professional relationship you would think.

The Jedi rotated duty as guards; you would never know who was behind the mask on a given day.

Why she doesn't know him then? Ten thousand is still a pretty large amount of people, so it's not unlikely that she wouldn't know every Jedi.

The Jedi rotated duty as guards? Is that from one of the books I haven't had time to read yet?

They wouldn't all be on Coruscant in the temple though. And how many Jedi working at the temple would be of GI 's species? If Nu had denied GI access to the library's information, then she should remember a Jedi looking like him at least. I can't believe a guard would visit the library wearing his guard uniform helmet.

Maybe she was denying requests so often to so many Jedi, she has problems remembering? :)

In the ROTS novelization (which I believe is still canon), the main motivation for Anakin wanting to be a Jedi Master on the Council was the fact that he wanted access to the restricted parts of the Archive where Sith holocrons were kept, as he believed this is where he could find knowledge how to save Padme. Its why he was so pissed when he was put on the Council, but without the rank of Master, as he still didn't have the access.

So in some ways, Anakin/Vader can actually relate a bit to GI's motivations for turning to the dark side.

I love that Jocasta has no clue who the GI is. He is so worked up about what she "did" to him and acted like she was out to deny him specifically. I hope she didn't even do the paperwork for that sort of thing and left it up to one of the assistant librarians.

"I'm sorry. I don't remember any of it."

    "You don't remember?!"

"For you, the day Jocasta Nu told you to stop trying to look up dirty pictures on the library computers was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday."

Sigh. That brings back old high school memories. Pretty sure schools monitor internet activities way more nowadays than they did a decade plus ago.

A few thoughts I have had: For starters the fact that Jocasta didn't know who the GI is casts her actions in a darker tone. Before it just came off has foolish, petty, or arrogant, possibly throwing her life away so as to attack an old Temple Guard who happened to be disrespecting her books.

Now it comes off as all that, and even crueler, she didn't know he was a darksider, or that he even had a weapon. For all she knew he was a mindless, defenseless bureaucrat assigned to go through the information in the temple library, (She was surprised he had a lightsaber after all). Yet she looked prepared to kill him anyways.

Another thing: We all know the Kyber Crystal requires a Holocron to read it, and a holocron can only be accessed by Jedi (As implied in TCW, and outright stated in Rebels). This raises the Question of how The Sith intend to use it? Maybe a sufficiently powerful Dark Lord (AKA Sidious) can force it open, or Vader can use his old Jedi training to activate it. But that makes one wonder why neither of these methods were available in TCW season 2. Palpatine was the one who hired Cade Bane to steal the holocron, and Dooku was a former Jedi. If either of these methods are possible the whole plot of capturing Ahsoka to force Anakin to activate it becomes pointless. Perhaps the most logical solution to this, is the reason The Sith want Jocasta alive is so she can open it for them, but I don't believe for a second that she would ever willingly do so. She may be a little arrogant, but she is a Jedi master, there is no way she would sacrifice children, not through torture, threats of death, or even to save books. That is beyond OOC, that is on another plain of wrongness.
