Solo [Official Info] Ron Howard to Finish Han Solo film

I’m not sure if this is going to be the last EW article or not, but here’s a piece on Ron Howard.

From the EW article above, George Lucas visited the set on Ron Howard's first day of shooting and helped with the film:

"He had intended to just kind of stop by and say hi, and he stayed five hours,” Kennedy says. “There’s even one little moment in a scene that — I can’t tell you what, sorry — but in the scene on the Millennium Falcon where George said, ‘Why doesn’t Han just do this.’”​

In other words, George Lucas helped direct a small part of Solo.

“It actually is a funny little bit that will probably get a laugh,” Kennedy says. “And Ron happened to be by the monitor and not inside the Falcon and he goes, ‘Oh that’s a great idea,’ and ran in and said, ‘George wants us to do this.’ So that was pretty cool."​

 

Not that I’m terribly surprised, Ron Howard seems to be the only director credited on the new poster, so I imagine it’ll be that way on the film itself.

Ha! Though it looks like Ron may have already given us a glimpse of his little bro in the trailer...

Can’t imagine they’d want their names on a movie that’s not theirs. Zack Snyder has tried to do the same thing with Justice League.

 

Credits = money.

 

The movie comes out next month. Wow. We live in special times folks. Don’t take this for granted.

 

They themselves have already announced what their credit for the movie will be, so yes, their names will be associated with it.

I wouldn't automatically assume that everytime someone leaves a production that the person doesn't want to be credited for his/her job. In some cases it is clearly defined whether someone has to get a credit or not, in others people might want to be credited because they put a lot of work into it.
Gary Whitta was credited for Rogue One, even though he left way before the movie was done. Same with Michael Arndt on TFA.

 

The film has been completed.

I wonder when tickets go on sale?

 

May the 4th is the rumor for tickets sales.

 

@ManaByte has confirmed with Regal Cinemas it’s going on sale May 4th.

 

Makes sense, the day is a celebration of all things Star Wars. Midnight screening for me.

 

You know, regardless of how Solo turns out, and what the fan reaction / box office is, it's a minor miracle that Howard essentially reshot the majority of the film and finished it on time, all in the span of 10 months.

 

That's why you get an old pro like Howard.

 

Yes, it is Han. That's the character Alden Ehrenreich is playing.
