    Did you make it yourself?

If so, nice work. Though the mouth could use some work, please show us it illuminated as well.

Glad you liked it, i based it on the first Garfield comic strip design, it works better on looking weird than the more known version.

Beautifully terrifying stuff CIS, I can only wonder what you'll produce on Halloween itself :p

Now for my 'darkspine weekend recap'! We were visiting my sisters in Leicester (they're studying English at the same Uni I did Physics at).

On Saturday we started off by going to Stoneywell House, which is a small National Trust residence that's so small you have book in advance. It was constructed in 1897 by a rich Ironworks manager, who built it as a summer home so his wife could avoid the smog. We had to get a quick minibus from the carpark to the site. Unfortunately it was pretty rainy, despite the forecast (ah, England), but we soldiered on in our raincoats. Here's a view of another house and the surrounding countryside:

First place we went was the stables, where we signed in for our guided tour of the house:

After that while we were waiting for our tour, we went for a cake break in the tea room, a common English pastime :p In there, I spotted this cutie:

Turns out there's a 'bat hotel' in the roof of the stables, where they roost, which is cool even if we couldn't actually go up to it. Sadly this toy was £6, which is too much to fork out over ;)

Here are the pics of the grounds leading up to the house:

(got my thumb in this one :p)

This is a very fuzzy picture (I didn't notice till later), but it's a wooden log that we found in the forest, titled Lester Lizard:

Here's the exterior of the house itself now, it was built on a hill and slopes down:

    ...Continued

Now for the inside of the house, starting with the Kitchen:

Here's the pantry, carved into the rock of the house, they were going to dig a cellar, but gave up halfway ;):

Here's a nice painting of the house:

This is the sitting room (notice the little seat to the right of the fire):

Since this room was above the kitchen, there's a tiny floor hatch for serving food:

    Little collection of pipes:

    Bedrooms now:

    Cool triangular window:

Some random Titanic soap I spotted:

After our trip to the house, we headed into Leicester, for our Escape Room! :D

It was themed on a Nuclear Reactor that we had to reactivate. There were some really cool puzzles, like guiding people through a dark room via night vision cameras and an intercom in the control room, or manipulating fuel rods via a 2 person crane. We were a bit frantic at the start, since it was so open ended, but we managed to beat the room in 51 minutes (out of 60), which is not too shabby for the Pigeon Wranglers (our team name since a WWII themed room involving messenger pigeons :p). I was a bit high on adrenaline afterwards, since the room had been so tense :)

After we got out, we went for a meal at Pizza Express, and I snapped this pic of Leicester Cathedral's spire:

Today we went to Wistow, a small garden centre with a cafe and good walks around (we did a circuit walk there this time last year). Since the weather was intermittent we decided not to do a walk, and just had lunch there. I got a pic of these nice clouds before we left:

All in all, a very fun weekend, nice seeing my sisters again, and we went to some great places. I'm pretty tired now, since we just had a 2 hour drive home, plus I had a rubbish night's sleep last night, thanks to sleeping on a lilo.

I love design - fashion, buildings, etc. - & really appreciate the indoor pics Darsk. That pantry & triangular window are cool! Glad you had a good time! Both you & Moll go more places in a week than I do in a month, probably a few months.
It was literally just the shape of the creature & colors you used that made me think of it. Lol, cosmic horror it was definitely not. It was a really stupid early 2000s Nickelodeon kids show about the shenanigans they got up to.

It seems like you do anyway! I love hearing about everyone’s travels; it seems like y’all have such fun times. I too love being home. Probably too much. While I really want to travel & explore more even just locally, exhaustion, anxiety or $$$ keep me from doing it most of the time. But I’m trying to work on those first 2.

Quality posts @darkspine10 :) Sometimes it's nice to visit lesser known places.

I'm thinking about my next trip. Every destination I wanna go to is quite expensive. But I must go back to Turkey cause my visa is valid until April. :p

I like "travelling" locally more than going far away. I don't dislike holidays, but I am happy without them, as I just spend the time wanting to be at home, which makes it not that enjoyable. Also costs a lot of money, and I feel like it is not worth it most of the time. Last year I went on holiday for three weeks and that was way too long, I would never do that again. I think 10 days is a good amount, as it is enough to relax, but not too much where it starts to get dull.

Edit: I think having fluffy babies at home make holidays harder as well, as it does not feel right to just leave them behind, as they are part of the family unit ;)

As always, late to the conversation. But speaking of Garfield, there's this amazing video evaluating the first Garfield comic strip. It's an hour long.

    Purple shoes. Bold choice.

Meanwhile, I'm at work and am currently dipping my banana into my coffee. No, that's not a euphemism.

They are actually blue and pink, but look purple from afar ;)

I love purple, it is my fave colour! I used to wear these bright pink shoes...I don't really wear dull coloured shoes at all come to think of it XD

Umm, does that actually taste nice? Won't you get stringy bits of banana in your coffee?
