Trump ends the year saying some parts of this fantastical wall, which I think soon will span different realities and parallel dimensions, needs to be see-thru in some parts so they can see whats going on on the other side.

When Obama was President, I'd always say that "Budget Compromised Reached" should be added in between the "1" and "0" on the New Year's Ball Drop.

He's not in position to bring up a lot of things, but he does and his cult supports him. They support a guy who has publically lusted after his own daughter. It's not like they have any morals whatsoever.

As for Duckworth, she's not running for President, I know that much.

Elizabeth Warren made her announcement and released a pretty good commercial.

To be fair, many of us said EXACTLY this about Trump in 2016. So if that can happen, it proves anything is possible I suppose. [face_dunno]

As the new year grew near, I went to check my Twitter and found Donnie still tweeting about the Democrats and the wall. Guy can't take a ****ing break. Here's to a new year full of even more hate for that bastard, and the hope that Mueller does something to him or his children to **** him up good. I wish nothing but bad things for the guy.

I didn't know it was possible to have less enthusiasm than Hillary.

She at least seems likeable, not that she has a chance. No Democrat does, honestly.

Yes, there is no possible way for any democrat to overcome the giant gap Clinton lost by in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, it just can't be done [face_clown]

I know that you just stick to your "we are doomed" nonsense all the time, but seriously, can't you be realistic for once?
There are ways for democrats to lose in 2020, but claiming that is impossible for them to win, especially when Clinton won the popular vote by 3m and lost the decisive states by just a few thousand, is absurd to say the least. This isn't 1984 Ronald Reagan a democrat will face, it is Donald Trump.

Thoughts on Tulsi Gabbard? She's given a fair amount of pushback to the DNC, which is good in my books, but kind of puts her on the outs with the establishment. She's a woman obviously. And while this shouldn't be part of the public reaction to a female candidate, it just is: she's physically attractive. I'm not bringing that up because it matters to me, but it's a thing that will help her in some demographics. She's a veteran which would make it hard for Trump to attack her on a lot of issues. She's charismatic and smart. She would kick Trump's ass in debates.

But she is Hindu and to a lot of Americans that's the same thing as Muslim. I mean, people couldn't get over Obama being Muslim, so someone who actually isn't even nominally a Christian? That seems like a huge problem. But then the Evangelicals got behind Romney and that genuinely surprised me at the time because of the fear and distrust the majority of Evangelicals have typically had for Mormons. I didn't know yet that the majority of Evangelicals were willing to completely sell out even the most major tenets of Christianity for someone like Trump.

Yeah, I like her willingness to stand against U.S. wars and weapons deals, but she's far too cozy with right-wing leaders abroad and that would be a very bad quality in a U.S. President as we've already seen.

And this isn't something that bothers me personally, but she is only 37. If she made it through the primaries, she would be the youngest ever major party nominee and of course the youngest president ever elected (Theodore Roosevelt was 42 when he succeeded McKinley and JFK was 43 when elected). Can you imagine the whining about a "Millennial" candidate? :p

Yeah, I remember when she was briefly thrown around as someone Trump might actually put in his administration and that's a real red flag. And I can see her youth being used against her, but I'm just so sick and tired of everyone in DC being in their ******* eighties. Trying to make laws and policies and hand down decisions dealing with technology when they don't know that Google & Apple are two different things or how Zuckerberg could possibly make money from Facebook if he isn't charging people to use it. And also making policies that aren't going to effect them at all because they'll all be dead in five years. We need people making policy on, for instance, the environment and climate change who are actually going to be around for forty more years. They've got some incentive. I mean, that's me applying the most cynical and self-serving motivations to politicians but honestly do we really think Trump cares about the shape the world's in after he's dead?

Just on the outside of being related to politics, but Verizon dropped Glen Beck's The Blaze channel from it's cable line up.

While at first glance Gabbard looks "hip" and charismatic, being a somewhat young photogenic/pretty non-Christian veteran, I'm pretty sure she also defended Assad at least once, so that leaves me wary. I'd have to check but I also think she skipped debates during her last re-election? Not entirely sure about that (and she was most likely almost guaranteed to win anyway), but as mentioned she was also possibly in the running for a Trump administration post, so that says something about her character. Along with a trend to buck Democratic leadership and cozy up to the Republicans a bit too much.

Not that everyone should automatically obey party leadership, mind you, but rather that she seemed more ambitious rather than just independent-minded Democrat. I haven't heard much about her recently, but then she used to get some attention by criticizing Obama (and she's from Obama's birth state) and that seems tame now compared to the daily insanity of the Trump administration. I'm not sure how much she's criticized the Trump administration or whether it just blends into the background. My memories are blurry but I think she sounded closer to the partisan Republican complaints about Obama back before November 2016 so that causes me to distrust her.

I've seen her name pop up a few times, especially because she looks "hip" at first glance but her actions come off as ambitious and opportunistic more.

And that's not even going into whether a female non-Christian would poll well, even a veteran (not like Trump respected McCain at all). I'd hope America wouldn't be so backwards but probably most of Trump's base still thinks Obama is Muslim or refuse any evidence that says otherwise. Well, unless Gabbard switched to a completely conservative platform (anti-abortion, anti-middle class, anti-allies), then evangelicals might support her. Not like that demographic has much goals aside from white Christian male supremacy (which explains their support for Trump).
