Our amazing friends over at La-La-Land Records have released a huge important new box set of music. All three of the John Williams Harry Potter scores, in complete "archival" versions. Clocking in at 7 hours and 57 minutes, this 7 disc set contains a ton of unreleased music, as well as cues presented more in film order. I'm a huge fan of all three of these scores and jumped at the chance to buy this limited edition set.

My current obsession is pretty much everything from Prisoner of Askaban that uses the "A Window to the Past" theme. Most of these uses were not on the original CD.

    Anyone else pick this up?

I been waiting since I was younger for a complete score of Sorcerer's Stone which is my favorite Harry Potter film.

The scene in the first one where Harry releases the owl Hedwig in the snow always gets to me. It's amazing music.

Agreed. For me, the jewel here is the complete score for Prisoner of Askaban. Always been my favorite JW Harry Potter score. So many unreleased uses of the Window to the Past theme, and all of the unreleased uses of harpsichord! Absolutely love it.

I just watched The Chamber of Secrets and I really like the music when they are in the flying car going after the train. It's classic JW soaring music. The 3rd 4th and 5th films are my favorites.

Agreed. I'm currently obsessed with the fully expanded Prisoner of Azkaban score. So many good new tracks to enjoy!

Yes that's a good track, but it's been available since 2003 so it's not necessarily as exciting as some of the other tracks that were unreleased.

It's great being able to hear Sorcerer's Stone in complete and chronological order (in good sound quality (I listened to the illegal complete sessions back in the day but it was too dang quiet!)). It might be the most entertaining complete John Williams score from start to finish. So much great music left off the original presentation (the Entrance to the Great Hall/Diagon Alley march, Hagrid's Breaks the Door, Fighting the Troll, Hagrid's Flashback, The Forbidden Forest, Gryffindor Wins)

I watched Home Alone recently and was struck by how Potter like the score is. HA is a great score too. Same director as well. The music to POA is so different when I first saw the film I did not think it was JW. Until the Buckbeak scene.

Yeah the Home Alone scores are excellent. I have them in the same complete score format from LaLaLand Records.

If you look closely that's actually one of the Prisoner of Azkaban discs, so it's the right Dumbledore after all ;)

with a name like Dumbledore he must have been picked on a lot as a kid. I like the music when Harry is looking into the mirror in the original.

Yeah the Dumbledore disc is from Prisoner of Azkaban, so it's Michael Gambon.

My reply was more a joke regarding how much I vastly prefer Harris's Dumbledore to Gambon's.

I don't. I much prefer Gambon. But most of all, I wish the series was consistent from start to finish. The changes in lots of things between CoS and PoA are forever annoying.

My copy should arrive today or tomorrow. I really love the Scores of those movies and askaban is by far my favorite. Ist a very unique and memorable score with lots of great tracks. The movie is one of my fav. Potter movies too so that goes Hand in Hand.

Oh yes. I've got it. Listend it it with my beats headphones during gym work Outs. Loved it. specially the azkaban one. many stuff which was unreleased before and just was heard during the movie.

I must say that Williams really created Special with those scores. The very unique and magical!

Yes I agree that the Prisoner of Azkaban part is the crown jewel in this release. So much incredibly good unreleased music!
