ST Sith Trooper (Red Stormtrooper) Discussion

OK, so let's say red stormtroopers will be more Jango Fett clones explained in a single line of dialogue, if at all.

Galaxy Edge materials have said that Red Fury is looking for something or someone. Does that apply to park attraction only, or does this tie into the rumored McGuffin in IX?

Me too. BUT...then I think stormies have always been symbolic of Star Wars merchandising (public or staff).

At the end of the day, what difference will it make if they are clones? Their loyalty might be interesting for the plot (white v red)? Another aspect might be that they are clones of Phasma...or even Finn!?

Or they are just elite/fanatics. I'm siding with this one (and the significance of the staff merch might tie with this).

 

Yes, but I find it interesting that the faceplates of these new stormies are serving as a central motif. Makes me think that perhaps, and I stress perhaps, these guys somehow play a role in aiding the Resistance. Would seem odd for the staff to have a symbol of fascist fanaticism as the core element of their merch. But who knows?

 

being at the bottom of the poster while all the other things are above them really singles them out tbh. thats why i kinda doubt they are just normal storm troopers.

 

Is it really so odd for corporate employees to ironically identify as loyal troopers in service to a small, elite leadership?

The corporate structure is a fascist structure, usually, is it not? It's not like leadership has their staff vote on policies, typically. So employees can play a double role here that allows for identification-disidentification.

 

I posted in another thread that I think these troopers are the new big threat, seeing it would be crazy of JJ to risk fan reaction to yet another Space Station Death Machine.

So there has to be something special about them, to which I can only say:

1. Clone troopers.
2. Force sensitive troopers.
3. Both.

Whether the poster is genuine or not, the Stormtroopers are clearly white, and its the red of the lightsaber that gives them a tint, particularly on the top half.

Kylo pushed up against the forth wall during his, “you have no place in this story” speech in TLJ. The Kool-Aide Men will now bust through that wall! OH YEAH!!!

 

You know what, I thought this when I first saw the poster, and still wonder this. But there has been a rumour for a while about red troopers so I conceded to myself that speculation was right. They are more light red than a crimson red that I would have expected though.

They do also have that different "clone trooper" helmet design, be it red or white, so there is something deliberately special about them.

 

I think they're red and white, like Shock Troopers in ROTS. The white parts of the armor and helmets have turned pinkish from his saber, and also possibly from the lava of Mustafar. Maybe.

 

My guess is that a few dozen white armored stormtroopers are going to be dipped in red paint and then Kylo is going to hide them like Easter eggs.
