ST I Have A Bad Feeling About This - The "Haters" Sanctuary

Why decide when you can be vague and have the fans will do the work for you.

Then years later put out a comic that will half heartedly “explain it” leaving some fans feeling unsatisfied while other fans tell them its their fault for having preconceived expectations or head canon.

 

Much confusion in this thread there is. Terrible. Terrible.

 

Why bother to write a full story when you can create an adlib instead and let the audience do all the hard work for you

I still had in mind that vision of how they could have write Jakku Escape sequence without making Rey/Finn meeting Han a convenient coincidence, while keeping story more tight and making Han solid continuation of his ROTJ character.

And thats really simple way to make.

>Rey/Finn being chased by Tie-Fighters into space;
>"There is unusual number of capital class ships!" - "First Order?" - "Yes... and New Republic too!"
>We see new, cool looking (new design) Mon Calamari ships warping in Jakku space. They have been tracted by FO ships.
>"Guess, we need to let them know we aren't enemies". - "Agree. Poe said they can help us".
>....
>After being captured by Mon Calamari ship' magnet field.
>New Republic soldiers bring Rey/Finn to captain's bridge.
>"Admiral Solo, we checked out these two. They let us capture them and told they have information about Luke Skywalker".
>Camera focus on the back of the admiral. Man turns around and we see badass looking Han in admiral clothes.
>"Ill take care of you later, kids. Now we need to get rid of these rusty buckets".

Boom. Simple fix that makes sense.

 

That's so ****** up. No wonder DR changed her tune after she saw the film.

 

JJ needs to own this and defend it himself, we really need to hear from him (apologies if he has address already but I haven’t seen it)

 

OMG I am a broken record, but these people are trash at their jobs. Do they even understand that the point of any movie, but especially a Star Wars movie, is to tell a story? They didn’t even know what the hell story they were telling with the protagonist and the antagonist until the last second. Absolutely pathetic.

 

What's weird is that even most of the people who are positive about the film think the kiss was stupid, and most of the people who loved the kiss hate that Benny Bunny died. So what was the point?

 

Reylo kiss makes as much sense as girl kissing her rapist day after. Thats bad. Its pitiful they thought that some half-assed backstory (Luke trying to kill Kylo) would justify this.

One of the best results of this film is all the new sigs and user images. I crack up at something new every day.

 

There were ten other people in my theater during my showing (I counted), and, being in the back, I looked around at all of them during the kiss. Everyone was groaning--either literally out loud, throwing their heads back, and/or giving disgruntled looks to their partner/kids.

 

With regards to Revan being made canon in TROS it doesn’t mean anything as it wasn’t on screen it’s in a visual dictionary and we saw how much of that they actually used for the prévois films in future ones. If it’s not on screen it doesn’t mean anything unfortunately

 

A plot? A plot? You expect the movie to have a plot that makes sense?

 

I have rbf on a good day, so when I'm actively disgusted, it really shows. During the kiss, my son said "Okay, now THAT'S stupid," and he looked at me and laughed at my expression. "Mom, your face "

 

So .... They wanted to please as many fans as possible, but calculated that the Reylos - and their satisfaction - were more important to the future of the franchise and everyone else was ultimately expendable.

 

He is made canon in the sense that he is an ancient Sith, however it isn't necessarily the same character. I can't imagine a way that it would be overridden, unless they reads list of every single Sith on screen.

 

My theater had muffled laughs and rumblings during the kiss. It certainly wasn’t some Romeo and Juliet style reception of epic love. More like, “wtf was that?”

The visual dictionaries have been overridden during this trilogy. They’re meaningless.

 

Jedi council was great around the time of TFA when Harold was super into it but he just got more and more busy. Since TLJ the show has just been going down hill and Napzok and his I like anything Star Wars just didn’t bring anything to the table.

 

I did mention that in the same post that I made talking about the Yes Men.

 

I'll be honest the kiss didn't bother me *that* much... I mean it is very, very strange for someone to kiss their kidnapper, abuser and [mind] rapist and I'd have thought it sends out completely the wrong message to kids... But by this point I just wanted the bloody thing to end so I could get back to the train station and get home!

 

I'm talking about how I can't imagine how that of information could be overridden on screen. Therefore it'll likely remain canon.

 

I can imagine. If they make an Old Republic movie, they’ll deal with Revan one way or another. However they deal with him, the RoS visual dictionary won’t influence them at all.

 

I have PTSD flashback from TFA times when i hoped they will address Kylo Ren's design resemblance of Darth Revan' one in the very movie, so that way they will slowly build up the road towards Old Republic.
What a naive fool i was, they didnt even explain whats going on in present. I shouldnt have expect them explaining the stuff from the deep past.

 

What the hell? Were they doing "make up your own adventure" instead of a movie? They didn`t know till the end of it? That would be like the author of a murder mystery going "well, I didn`t know who the killer was gonna be until the final page, I just wanted to keep it open and let the story tell itself".

Dude, no, you are mixing up who the audience is and who the creator is. The creator knows and the audience finds out over the course of the story.

Also, how DID the movie tell them they should kiss, hm? Did it whisper in their ears at night? Did it become sentient and demanded it? It`s a MOVIE, it will tell whatever the people making it want it to.

Oh, I get it now, it is super-meta and the "movie" stands for "the force" here. You know the entity that makes everything happen the way it wants. Somehow.
