A/V Leslye Headland reportedly developing a female-centric SW TV series

I'm of the very firm opinion that everything is political in some way or another. Not everything has to be Watchmen in order to have some kind of subtle political undertones. I'm sure if I played through them, I could find political aspects to all of those games. Hell, just going off of what I know of the games, we're talking about a game where a naturalistic animal creature protected by spiritual beings has to defeat an evil scientist trying to take over the world, a game where two contrasting creatures have to form a symbiotic relationship in order to defeat a comical looking witch, and a game that is literally the embodiment of capitalism. All very political.

 

I find this political nonsense just funny, when ever i hear the word woke or femenist agenda i close my ears damn you as the bigots of the rest them, like the fandom menace.

 

I don't agree with all of what The Fandom Menace says, but they're not bigots.

Come on. There are works that are intended as political, and there are things that aren't. What are the political undertones of my profile picture? People absolutely make A-political media, and to say it doesn't exist is silly.

 

People say they make apolitical media. Whether it is or is not actually apolitical is another matter entirely. At some level, a person's opinions, feelings, and biases seep into any creative work. Whether they know it or not. Some are just more honest about it than others.

I don't agree with Jeremy's politics. I don't agree with many of his takes. But do you have any links or screenshots that go from that to being a bigot?

 

I believe that you're reaching to try and support a hypothesis that is far too broad to work.

Let me be clear. I don't like Jeremy. I think he absolutely goes overboard on the anti-SJW train. But I also don't see any evidence that he's a homophobe, a sexist (disliking Brie Larson is not an indicator of your views on an entire gender) or a bigot. And yes, Ben Shapiro is a dumbass.

 

Fandom Menace are people who GL would make fun off, samw with KK and RJ. So mutch hatred for her with their bigotrty and sexism. Mr Lee made a great video of this.

 

The thing is, even if everything is political in having political undertones, there is a restricted (and useful) meaning of "political" in which not everything is, namely that of being a government procedural. In this sense, The West Wing, Scandal and (to some degree) the prequel trilogy are political, while the sequel trilogy is not.

 

As I've said before, I'm not a fan of Jeremy. But that video is very inaccurate.

 

His entire career is built around, in one hand, using token minorities to prop up his platform, and in the other, going out of his way to play in the alt-right kiddie pool while slinging the one insult he knows at basically anyone who doesn't fall in lind behind his views, which, surprise, is mostly women and minorities! Is it not surprising to you that he only goes out of his way to decry "woke" politics, something he uses as a smokescreen to push against minority representation in media?

Great response! Likening a Nike campaign trying to sell shoes to women to Kathleen Kennedy "thriving on controversy" is a very reasonable and well-thought-out position. Jeremy is friends with women and minorities, and to say he's only so to prop up his channel is unfair. You can be friends with people who aren't exactly the same as you.

We all say stupid stuff online sometimes. I do quite a lot. The issue is that I:

A. Don't base my entirely online presence around ****talking disney every time they put a black person or a woman in something.

B. Don't make a living off of doing A.

 

This entire discourse about Youtubers is probably going to be more political than the show itself.
