my aunt was my mom's half sister,. she was actually quite a bit older and in a nursing home. she died at 2:15 am. apparently there was a staff member with her at least.

some times i think what it will be like to die, probably alone.

 

it's all my fault. I have singlehandedly ruined the world with my puns and throwing tons of styrofoam into the ocean.

 

Forgot to keep up posting my photos from Derbyshire last week, so here's Day 2's snaps On this day we went up the Edges, large exposed cliff faces atop the hills. In particular we walked along Curbar Edge, to see the lovely views of the sloping valleys below.

This first shot from the morning shows a grove of silver ash trees we walked past on our way uphill:


I think those odd brown splodges are falling leaves, spiralling down in the wind. That or my camera was dirty

Despite looking quite daunting, the hills up to the edges were surprisingly gentle, not very steep at all. Here's a small stream we crossed at the top, it was harder to cross than it looks:

We later walked along the lower areas of that photo. This shot gives a good impression of the terrain atop the hill, with ridges of large boulders on one side, and heather and bracken clinging to every scrap of soil:

There was a herd of cows grazing freely near the edge, my Mum at one point didn't even see them cause they blended in with the heather :


This view opposite the valley shows the open moorland, which we ended up walking on later in the week (and got utterly drenched in a downpour):


This shot shows the absolutely clogged up roadway heading up the edge. You see, it was a sunny day, a weekend, and the start of school holidays, so there was complete gridlock:


This was at the point we stopped walking along the edge and began to turn back, a division between two edges called the Curbar Gap:


Here's a shot of the edge from a bit lower down, to show what it looked like from a different angle:


Ahead is the village of Curbar, then another town, Calver:

The rest of the walk was along the valley base, mostly along a river area. This is the only shot I got in that half of the walk, cause I took so many in the morning :

The Earth has not survived the 6000+ years we populated the planet. It's got worse year by year.

BUT THANKFULLY at last a generation will come to fix EVERYTHING. My grandchldren...gods will they be.
