If we already have a thread for E3 2021, the mods can take this down or maybe merge this with another one, idk.

    Relevant info here.

So, we have less than a week till E3 2021 and I'm quite excited, especially for the preliminary announcements that will no doubt come before June 12th. For now, I'm just going to say that if you're all as hyped as I am, then let's enjoy the goings-on of the event and the lead-up to it together. Why do I get the feeling we're not going to get any elusive Switch Pro announcements?

I have a feeling this is going to be a waste of time for PC gamers.

FYI, I've added the announced E3 schedule so far, plus some of the pre-E3 (and post-E3) events going on to the opening post.

I'm not expecting much from this E3, given how 2020 and '21 have been, and with the next-gen consoles still in short supply, but if they do have some big announcements, I don't mind being surprised (in a good way).

Though if I were to put money down, I'd say Nintendo will save their big Switch announcement for a later standalone Direct. But meh, what do I know.

Too bad God of War was already confirmed to be delayed to 2022, but that means the final game should be worth it.

They delayed a Halo Xbox system launch title an entire year due to the feedback on the look of the game. There's zero chance it doesn't A) look better and, B) is actually a good game. Because, if not, essentially, that will break the systems chances against the PS5 this gen even if the other acquired studios manage to put out some hits in '22 or '23. Not to mention the viability of the Halo franchise as a premiere title moving forward.

For the Square Enix panel, I was going to say that I was looking forward to another trailer for FF7R Intergrade but it releases in 3 days before E3 even starts. With that said, I highly doubt that they'd would have a "brand new" announcement in regards to anything FF7R related as they wouldn't want to overshadow Intergrade's release. Maybe there will be a small feature to show off Intergrade and that will be that for that IP.

Integrade's upcoming release is inevitable, therefore I doubt there's any reason that SE would feel apprehensive about "overshadowing" it if they had big news.

I'll never forget the line from GT live back in 2015 when would of the guys said, "how did they keep this a secret?"

I half-expect a bunch of weird heckling during the Square Enix presentation even though it should be impossible.

I really just want some Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy Origin info/trailers. I have a feeling that might get shafted to a Sony event later in the month, and SE's E3 showcase is just going to focus on the Western developers in the studio's house.

Anything else is gravy. I'm expecting Breath of the Wild 2, with a release date sometime this fall, and also expect absolutely nothing on Starfield.

Followed by BotW2 amiibo instantly selling out for the next 2 years despite not even being in production yet.

    I wonder if we’ll get a Gears 6 teaser

I always love tuning in to E3. I'm not a huge gamer, but I'm always up for convention style nerdy showcases. I enjoyed last year's presentation of events, but found them to mainly devolve into just having a few unknown people playing video games and talking about them. Which is understandable, given the sudden cancellation of the in person event. This year they seem to be offering a full slate of programming, and hopefully we get to a see lot more major titles like we would during a traditional E3.
