Democracy is only needed when you cannot have good Kings that live forever. For even if you get a good one in time will die as all mortals. Their empires and what they have built crumpling with them. Democracy and the infrastructure with it give a stability that kings cannot. But if that king knows how to rule, to treat his people well, and lives forever...well then why would you want anything different?

At least that's what Patriarch would likely say about Democracies. That is a mortal affair, to fix a mortal problem.

Lol yes... there is well... it isn't a random choice I'll say that much, there are multiple reasons both narratively and in-world why I had him do that. Yeah, I plan to do more vignettes over time.
