Considering the ending of Venom 2, it's odd they're not advertising that as well.

I'd be a bit disappointed if the baddies weren't from their respective film series that we saw them in

like I'm Doc Ock but not the one from the movie you saw same with Goblin. Because they look exactly like the characters down to digital de-aging them, why would they bother with all that if they're just a side-Raimi-verse version. also Venom got plucked from his universe mid-movie.

The new look for Electro is a little weird to consider how he looked in ASM2 but I'm assuming everyone gets an upgrade for some reason like Ock's arms

As for Venom 2 post-credit scene

I'm starting to think we won't see Venom until a post-credit scene in No Way Home, which is kinda annoying if the Venom 2 stinger is only followed up by a No Way Home stinger. Unless he's not even hinted at in any of the ads and they're trying to preserve the Venom 2 stinger. But Doc Strange says they "started having visitors" so it seems they keep showing up not just all at once (until the fight at the end). Which does confirm that Venom jumped over due to the spell. So maybe by the end either A) the various Spider-baddies are staying in the MCU B) they all go back to their own universes, except for Venom. Maybe because the symbiote doesn't want to go and wants to find Peter Parker. Eddie would be as usual clueless about everything.

My theory is that Doc Ock and the others are variants of the characters we saw in those films. If Peter and Doctor Strange hadn’t cast the spell that brings them into the MCU then their lives would have played out like they did in the films. But instead they’re pulled out before their defeat by Spider-Man. This would explain why Doc Ock and Sandman are still evil (at least at the start.)

I talked with a guy the other day, he mentioned they have references to Miles Morales in these films. Could he show up?

But yeah the trailer edited out Tobey and Andrew. Marvel has been known to edit their trailer scenes to not reveal how the scenes are in the movie.

Also I still hold to Tobey giving Tom his "with great power" speech before sacrificing himself.

    Hold up. Just thought this
Strange basically said Peter will have to kill these villains. The rumor for the multimedia of madness is that Strange will be faced with the decision to kill Wanda to preserve the universe or something. So interesting he's like that here when he's against killing

Harry would be great. Total speculation - it’s Norman in a costume change or even an alternate version of Norman?

There isn’t a second Goblin. It’s just Norman with his helmet off and goggles on. There’s leaked concept art of this look all over the internet.

ended up rewatching Amazing Spider-Man 2. Like Spider-Man 3, it's a lot of sub plots warring for dominance. Hmmm the final movie in each series had an overstuffed finale episode... that's not a bad omen for No Way Home, is it? Well, Marvel Studios is very good at juggling multiple plots and characters (erm an Eternals or Iron Man 2 aside)

Honestly, ASM2 could have have a half hour clipped out. Don't touch the Peter/Gwen stuff, it's fantastic. Stone still has awesome moments throughout, her yelling "PETER!" when he webs her to the car hood is the best. Gwen's death is legitimately heartbreaking, as it should be. Like I said, the ASM series can basically just be the Stacy movie two-parter and works well there.

I actually like both the baddies and the performance of the actors, even if DeHann's Harry is on superspeed buddy to baddie arc is like rather rushed and his Goblin is ... shouty and angry and drooling (I can forgive the superspeed since Harry's arc in the Raimi movies went across 3 movies and then they bonked him on the head and gave him amneisa). Foxx's Electro is broad as the nerd version but I find it enjoyable and the Times Square scene is a series highlight (considering how great sequences in the Spider-Man series can be, that's high praise) But there's great baddie stuff, like I love all of this bit:

Y'know what is rather pointless, everything involving Peter's parents (opening scene is about them too!). Like, just don't care, feels like filler and dull filler at that. I think they were trying a bit hard to make it different from the Raimi movies by throwing that in there but it's a snooze and has hidden underground subway science stations. Also when Spider-Man is fighting Electro there's, like, stuff involving air traffic controllers and airplanes almost flying into each other? Why is that there! Who cares!

Anyway, I actually like the final scene which people griped about by teasing a Rhino showdown that never happens but it works emotionally about Spider-Man will still be out there no matter what happens. It's open ended resolution that is never resolved but the point is that Spider-Man will keep fighting the good fight, even if Harry is going to assemble a somewhat Sinister Six to take him out. (maybe some closure in No Way Home...?)

Also checked out a few 90s Spider-Man cartoon episodes, the Carnage two-parter which may throw in Baron Mordo and Dormomu and Iron Man and War Machine a bit randomly but it works, Carnage is still sucking out life energy but it's the same serial killer symbitoe vibe, great crazy performance too.

And I realized I really have to watch the non-Spider-Man starring MCU entries to make it complete rewatch, I mean Peter and Doctor Strange are in the next one. And they added Imax versions to D+ so been meaning to check that out. So can cheat/speed watch a bit

Captain America: Civil War (fast-forward about an hour to "Mine's downstairs, where's yours...")
Avengers: Infinity War (whole dang thing. Spidey & Doctor Strange!)
Avengers: Endgame (either from Hulk snap or Portals scene onward, depending on how much time I have that day hahaha)

I actually like Batman and Robin more than Batman Forever. Forever just really has Jim Carrey's unsanctioned buffoonery as the highlight. B&R has really fun performances from Arnold and Uma, the whole Bat family together, some wildly awful snow quips and a kickass Smashing Pumpkins song over the credits. Clooney is kind of the worst part of it.

He's the only Batman since Adam West who doesn't try to distinguish between Bruce Wayne and Batman voices. At least Val Kilmer tries.

1 thing i find very interesting is that we've been hearing all kinds of spoilers and leaks and theories about the movie; Jaime Foxx was the first to spill he was in the movies as Elektrolong time ago, the other day Michael Keaton said in one late night show he was filming scenes as Vulture; there have been leaks about Maguire and Garfield, etc.
But we hardly heard a word about Williem Dafoe.
Even if some of the rumours imply he is the main villain of the movie.
I don't think people even bothered to ask Dafoe if he was in the movie, unlike people do with Garfield.
Wonder if the leaks are nothing but a calculated marketing strategy.
