    Ahem Electro chest AHEM!

Arc reactor. (Is that Whiplash's gear?) Okay more Stark tech whatever, maybe explains why he's not blue. He arc reactor'd it. Not that I particularly need blue Electro but I always appreciate explanations for stuff like that.

It does bare a resemblance to Whiplash's gear- though the triangle arc reactor would be a Stark Mark VII-style reactor.

If we need a literal linking explanation, perhaps whatever affected him in ASM2 is being channeled through/contained in the blue arc reactor to then generate/convert to the yellow Electro energy.

But more than likely he's just a variant that is using tech for his powers (or is an Electro that lost his Ultimate blue powers and regained them, in yellow form, through technology).

As a theater employee I like telling you all any insider info or interesting facts I can. Obviously I won't say which specific theater it is but here's our situation with SM opening weekend so far:
The opening Thursday and Friday we have it on 10 out of 16 screens and all showings are already almost sold out. At least the only seats left will be scattered or in the pit.

Rest of week it's on 6 out of 16 screens and that Saturday is *surprise* almost sold out again.

Sunday the 19th is when there's finally availability.

Basically don't be like some people and show up just as the movie is starting and be surprised there's no seats left.

(You'd be shocked at how often that actually happens. "What do you mean sold out?!?" Or my favorite "I need 8 tickets to the new Disney cartoon that started 10mins ago" Sold out. "I told these kids I'm taking them to this movie what am I supposed to do now!!")

I hear many theaters (at least in big cities) are starting to add overnight showings just to keep up with demand... 2am, even 3am... It's gonna be crazy!!

@Princess_Tina As of right now out latest that Thursday night is 11:05. Wouldn't be surprised if a 12:00 is added.

The latest we've been open as far as I know is 2am showtime which was for Avengers: Endgame. I can't imagine seeing something that long with 25-30mins of commercials that late/early. Hopefully SM won't make us break that record.

So cool that it’s a two parter and we get more of Oscar’s Miguel O’Hara!?! Sweet.

Morbius looks good (Solid Demeter vibes in that clip too.)

Posting these videos in respect and homage to Amy Pascal's hair:

From the vibe i got from Amy, I now fully expect this next SM movie to be really trippy.

That Spider-Verse 2 trailer was uber-unexpected and awesome, picks off right when Spider-Verse ends pretty much and did not expect a Part 1. I hope when we jump into Spider-Man 66 he's still arguing with Spider-Man 2099. The trailer looks like, much like the Spider-Man '66 scene and the little bits we saw in the film, whenever Miles jumps universes he adapts their animation style which could be great. Maybe need 2 movies just for that.

officially started the MCU portion of my Spider-Verse watching, buzzed forward to approximately an hour and 16 minutes into Captain America: Civil War
    "I have an idea."
    "Me too. Where's yours?"
    "Downstairs. Where's yours?"

Great introduction which, to be fair, has that impact because we've seen so much Spider-Man beforehand so he comes into the movie fully formed. Maybe a bit on the backs of all the Spider-content before but it's a great way to kick off Peter Parker in the MCU. And even the capper to his final scene with Tony with the superhero thwip reveal "don't tell Aunt May!" is a great character tonal moment. Thing I like about the Spider-Man design is by having the goggles with his "senses dialed up to 11" it gives the Spider-Man mask an ability to emote with widening and closing eyes, which was something that was missing from the Raimi/ASM series. He does feel a bit like a guest star in this movie, Honest Trailers called him "The Spectacular Sony Man" but it's a fantastic guest star and every moment Peter/Spider-Man lands. "That thing doesn't obey the laws of physics at all!" "You have the right to remain silent!!" (also the newly available Disney Plus IMAX enhanced version of the airport battle of the Avengers brawl looks fantastic). It's great to see Spider-Man with all of the other Marvel heroes and he fits into the ensemble and world perfectly, gives it more of a original Marvel comics feel by having him in the MCU.

Then the next flick was Spider-Man: Homecoming. It's the most comedic out of all the Spider-flicks (maybe with Spider-Verse being a notch funnier) and the one that has the most high school movie feel. Running gag with Cap instructional videos is absolutely top notch. Pretty big cast of supporting Midtown high characters, one that becomes more central when Far From Home rolls around. Zendaya's Michelle is gold, not the most MJ interpretation of the character but she's a lot of fun here. "I come to sketch people in crisis". Vulture is such a slimy, greedy jerk of a baddie, even hiding behind doing this all "for his family" doesn't make him redeemable, just makes him more of a hypocrite. I love how he's done in by his own greed at the end.

the action scenes in here, or more accurately the things fall apart while Spider-Man desperately tries to save everyone, is fantastic. It takes a page from the extremely great "you got a train to catch" scene from Spider-Man 2, probably the high watermark of Spider-movie action scenes, and doubles down on ratcheting up the tension. The scene at the Washington Monument is amazingly propulsive. Also Spider-Man lifting the heavy object off his back takes a page from a classic Spider-Man comic, If this Be my Destiny

and turns into a soaring celebration of how amazing Spider-Man can be doing stuff because he's that determined, and even without the new Tony Stark tricked out suit he's still a hero

things that bugged me on first watch I'm cool with now. It was kinda advertised as a Spider-Man/Iron Man team up, this art / shot from the trailer didn't exactly help

Tony is actually used great in the flick as the voice of The Man who isn't exactly letting Peter do his thing without "training wheels". It works great as a continuation of his arc from Civil War. The whole "test" bit at the end was great "Where's the kid?"

Villain once again figures out that Peter Parker is Spider-Man after multiple movies in a row also irked me on first watch. But yah, it works thematically for this specific movie and the prom date reveal (good twist cuz Liz Allan wasn't Vulture's daughter). But it looks like villains figuring out that Peter Parker is Spider-Man that's basically become the thematic uber-arc of the MCU Spider-Man trilogy so it definitely gets a pass now, like it more than beforehand actually.

Out of all the Spider-movies, this one sells that he's a kid who gets in over his head often but he still has to reach deep to save everyone. Also the Spider-Man '66 theme basically becomes the full MCU Spider-Man theme which is super-neat to hear.

Yeah, the car scene between Toomes and Peter is one of the best and more menacing scenes between a hero and villain. Toomes was grateful for Peter saving his daughter's life that he was willing to give him a second chance to stay out of his way.

What I love the most about it is how the movie earned the scene from all angles, and executed it totally different from the usual "hero and villain have a chat" cliche - even if you want the protagonist and antagonist to just be purely pragmatic towards each other, the scene makes sense because of the exceptional circumstances, and Toomes remains appropriately threatening and Peter appropriately scared, but the civility is also justified.

I want to see a What If story where Peter Parker is bit by a black widow instead, and dies because his health insurance was so bad that he was afraid to go to the hospital for treatment. Make it a critique on the US social model.

Also there is the bonkers dynamic of a father giving a talk to the teenage boy escorting his daughter to a school dance. It weirdly starts as just that for Toomes before turning to hero and villain then circles back to menacingly end on that school dance father talk.

Good. Bring on more Venom movies. Keep making them 'til the end of time. Is it too late to cancel Morbius and put out another Venom movie in its place?

Looks like Willem is going to give us more of a comics-accurate Goblin. Goblin is obsessed with ruining Peter's life, and we are going to get the sadistic, irredeemably homicidal Goblin that Norman Osborn is in the comics. But this is the natural progression of Willem's character. He was getting close to that in the 2002 film.

Oh, Grace Randolph of Beyond the Trailer has confirmed that Jamie Foxx is portraying the Electro from Amazing Spider-Man 2. He just managed to change his appearance to be more human. Heh. I think Foxx is giving us a more menacing and craftier version of Electro this time. But, again, that's in line with where Electro was heading in the 2014 film. Electro only seemed to organize himself and become much more efficient and colder as Electro. His human self was too traumatized and tragic to become that coherent outside of his work.

It appears that Ifans' Lizard and Church's Sandman will not get as much exposure. However, I really liked Church's take on Sandman. I felt sorry for him. People forget that he wanted to help his daughter, he openly stated to Spider-Man that he had no beef with him unless the latter came after him, and so on. Plus, I have sympathy for Ifans' Lizard. Dr. Connors genuinely wanted to make everyone equal. Tragically, he became this extreme mad scientist.

I think Doc Ock will get a lot of screen time. His character appears to be struggling after he redeemed himself. I think the tentacles will latch on to his anger and bring out his darkness and narcissism at first, but he will gradually revert to his true, self-sacrificial self. Anyhow, I do miss the dynamic of Garfield's Peter and Stone's Gwen. That was wonderful. As cute as Zendaya and Tom are together as MJ and Peter, I gotta say that I prefer the Garfield/Stone romance in the Webb films. Even so, I'm excited that MJ will get to show how insightful she is in this film. We need to learn more about her fo sho.

    "He's dead to me...that Spider-Man!"
    - Electro

    "I don't wanna hurt you."
    - Sandman

"All these souls--lost and alone--I can save them! There's no need to stop me, Peter!"
    - Lizard

"These monstrous things belong at the bottom of the river...along with me."
    - Doc Ock

    "Finish it! Finish it!"
    - Green Goblin

Hopefully Goblin is allowed to vaporize some people into skeletons with his pumpkin bombs again.

Also, it's too bad we couldn't get a Dylan Baker rendition of Lizard (with a more interesting design than what TASM gave us, to boot - where's the snout!?!).
