    Answer: definitely maybe.

This is pure unadulterated 100% kung-fu trampoline 90’s dirtbag stuff

Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee met on New Year’s Eve 1994 at the Sanctuary nightclub in LA. Two months later, after a four-day romance on the beach in Cancún, Mexico, they were married. Lee had proposed at a nightclub string bikini contest. While the couple went on to have two sons, before divorcing in 1998 when Lee was sentenced to six months in jail for assaulting her, to this day they are best known for one thing: their sex tape.

The leaking of the tape has inspired a new Hulu drama, Pam & Tommy, starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan as the celebrity couple. In time with the show premiering on Disney Plus in the UK on 2 February

    Enjoy

Just let me know how it is. I never plan on watching it, but like slowing down to look at a car crash on a busy highway, I'm at least curious to see what other people say about it.

My fiance said that we have to see it, so that he can review it for the magazine he´s working for, so I guess I don´t have a choice, since it¨s my Disney account.

Do I need to watch the sex tape first before watching this?

I would say this is too stupid for you to watch, except I know you are also watching Book of Boba Fett. So.

I'll be watching this series. IIRC, the creators are the same folks that made the OJ series a few years ago and that was very good TV.

The OJ series was about a topic that pretty much all of the States cared about. I really don't see the appeal about the story regarding Pamela and Tommy Lee. Of course I knew about it when it was made public, but it was just some celebrity shenanigans that didn't involve any regular people. The crux of the entire series is that there was a sex tape that was somehow released to the public. It's enough to fill in a small paragraph on Pamela Anderson's Wikipedia page.

The story of Pamela and Tommy was global news, as Bay Watch was the most popular show in the world during it's syndication broadcast. Their story and sex tape is something that will live in infamy and created copy cats scenarios to make cash or to become famous. There are some legal issues I'm sure will be touched upon in the series. Moreover, I think the series we give some humanization and sympathy towards Pamela Anderson, much like the OJ series did with Marcia Clark.

I thought the OJ series gave more humanization and sympathy towards Robert Kardashian than it did Marcia Clark.

Yeah you cannot put the OJ Simpson saga which captivated the country for over 18 months (man it feels like yesterday we were running back to our cars on a warm October day back to school as we had been at lunch when word got out that they were going to read the verdict) but the sex tape was a huge deal and really was one of the first things I could remember that went "viral" because of the internet.

I honestly cannot wait to watch this as I think it looks great.

Also it's quite possible that Sebastian Stan is more like Tommy Lee than Tommy Lee ever managed to be.

He could also beat Mark Hamill in a Luke Skywalker lookalike competition.
I agree. If you don’t think this was big news at the time you either weren’t there, or you were doing the 90’s wrong

This is one of the most influential, singular pieces of history of the internet and the "reality show" age.

As well as a treatise in "how to be as ****** as possible to a woman" (thanks US legal system!)...

I can't tell if you're talking about the Simpson story or the Pamela and Tommy Lee story. At least from the second sentence.

The Pam and Tommy Lee story.

    https://www.mtv.com/news/1432429/pamela-anderson-tommy-lee-lawsuit-thrown-out/

It basically abrogated a "right to privacy" -- IN PRIVATE!!! -- once a celebrity becomes famous enough, which is a terrible ruling.

    I’m one episode in.
Lily James is as good a Pamela Anderson, as Stan is as Tommy Lee.

Seth Rogan nails it as a carpenter

That is a huge caveat. Have you considered that maybe the "reality show age" is not that important or consequential overall? This ruling about celebrities hasn't really had any broad legacy that affects non-celebrities. This is a bit like saying "Although it came under a lot of criticism at the time, The Last Jedi has proven to be one of the most important new entries into art exploring sci fi beverages through cinema."

Hulu isn't fully international, I believe -- it's only on D+ outside of the US; it's on Hulu in the US and where Hulu exists, I think.

Ah, ok. We get this add-on for D+ over here called Star. That’s where all the grown up stuff goes. Like if you wanna see Tommy Lee penis on Disney+ that’s where you go.
