Andor The Imperials of Andor (spoilers allowed)

This is a thread for the bad guys and girls, aliens and droids, of the Imperial persuasion in Andor.

There's a lot of 'em!

Looks like we're going to get a bit up close with some of them too in the course of this series.

Actress Denise Gough seems to be one - with Deathtroopers.

The other one I noticed (in the white room) seems important but I can't remember the actor's name!

They're mean, keen and serving Palpatine.

Looking forward to seeing the Imperials at their height, and for them to be brought down low...

What else are you looking forward too, from the Empire? It's released in August so not long til we can have actual spoilers too.

 

Anton Lesser is the Imperial actor's name I couldn't remember. A fine addition.

 

Looks like we might get to see more grunts like we saw in Solo. The not-stormtrooper corps.

 

He was great in GOT!

That scene with the I...are they still ISB?? After krennic I'm not sure anymore.

 

I think they're Tarkin initiative.

 

There were so many cool images of Imperial stuff in the trailer, so let's get those on here.

 

It would be such a dream if the second picture was indeed the ISB leadership... or Imperial Intelligence... or the Ubiqtorate!

Could Anton Lesser be playing the long anonymous role of ISB Director? Perhaps not, but at this point one is allowed to dream...

 

I think it’s highly possible, as we are dealing with a spy thriller. So I’m almost certain the ISB will feature. Not least as Cassian only became aware of the Tarkin initiative stuff right before Rogue One, and this story takes place earlier. So while I think Death Star hints will be there from the start of the series, I think Imperial ISBers will be at the heart of the film’s villainy.

 

Good call. Those pictures are amazing. Practically made me drool.

 

It would be so very exciting! Even a glimpse of ISB vs Intelligence internal politics would be priceless. And I don't think it's out of the question, seeing that Tarkin and Krennic had their share of "misunderstandings" in Rogue One. Ahhh the possibilities...

*Starts day dreaming... again*

 

We stand here amidst my achievement, not yours.

He shouts at Tarkin! I mean, who else does that?! And Tarkin remains cool-as-a-cucmber.

I hope we do get more of this sort of stuff. And some clever Imperial tactics dealing with the Rebels. And maybe some bungling officers too, but not too many.

 

Tarkin stands nonchalantly while thinking "the first chance I get I'll be firing the biggest laser I find at this guy's eye". Can't wait to see what part Anton Lesser´s character plays in all of this!

 

Anton Lesser, Stellan Skarsgaard, Denise Gough, Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Fiona Shaw. What did Star Wars fans do to deserve this caliber of acting?

 

Fantastic lot. I'm particularly excited about getting Genevieve O´Reilly back as Mon Mothma. That's a character that has long deserved more attention, and I honestly think O´Reilly shines in it...

Speaking of imperials, Denise Gough seems to be ISB too, from what I recall from the trailer?

 

I am very excited that ISB looks like it is going to play a large role in this. Fitting really, given the spy themes.

I am also happy to see more imperial army troopers, they are so often forgotten about.

What I am curious about is if those guys in the blue and red are imperials or not. They look imperial in some ways, but also different enough it is hard to picture them as another trooper variant. Local militia maybe?

 

^^I was thinking probably local militia. We might see such organisations gradually fall under the control of the empire as it expands into the outer-rim. Casual observation…

Spoiler: Obi-wan Kenobi

In the Kenobi show, an Anchorhead resident tells the inquisitors that they have no jurisdiction on Tatooine because of its location in the Outer-rim. By the events of ANH we see Stormtroopers in the streets of Mos Eisley.

So it’s cool that we might see that change happen in Andor.

Anyway, stoked for this, looks very Bondish.

 

Excellent observation, I hope we do see that.

(Come to think of it, I remember some early Rebels promo implying the empire would also being ruling the outer rim indirectly in that show, working in partnership with local governments because they were streched too thin to control anything directly. It looks like that idea got dropped from rebels by the time it launched, but it would be great to see come back here)

 

They seem to be involved in a Clone Wars era prologue, so I think they’re not Imperial.

 

I don’t think so. We see the character played by Kyle Soller looking at a hologram of an adult Cassian so they seem to be involved in the present storyline.

 

Ah, right. Whoever they are (Imperial mining cooperative, etc) the costumes look incredibly good. There seem to be some next-level designs in this show.

 

I like that lab shot. Different feel from Disney's house style of Star Wars.

 

I wonder if the series will cover disillusioned Imperials as well as fanatics. I think it could be an opportunity the many faces of the Empire at that point in the timeline.

 

Anticipating Emperor Palpatine very much showing up in this. Vader not so much beyond a cameo perhaps
