Episode 6 can't get here quick enough.

Only for Owen's sassy return of course.

If they make a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, I think an interesting premise for it would be Obi-Wan leaving Tatooine to go save Owen after he is enslaved by the Hutts. Obi-Wan would only leave Tatooine if it was in Luke's best interest. Returning one of his parents would justify that. Not to mention that Obi-Wan owes Owen for saving him from Reva.

With the show heavily focusing on the criminal underworld, you could easily find a way to give Obi-Wan a rematch with Darth Maul + Crimson Dawn.

I think there was a missed opportunity in The Clone Wars that could have had an arc of Anakin returning to Tattooine to fight the Separatist and the story involves Owen. Hit some key moments for the Lars family with Cliegg's death and Owen and Beru's marriage but show that Owen is not just a crotchety farmer but a capable fighter as well. And show Owen and Anakin getting to know each other better with Owen seeing some of Anakin's darker aspects.

Lucas dropped the ball there slightly. There should have been more interaction between Anakin and Owen in AOTC. Thought it in 2002, still think it now.

I’d like to see Owen come to the rescue in episode vi. If I was the writer I’d have Owen run Reva over with the Lars Family speeder. Thus executing the most protracted Chekov’s gun moment ever!

Surely their scene together in ep1 foreshadows what will happen. Owen's "vermin" remarks seemed a bit out of place, like something they were setting up for later. He'll kill Reva, & as she’s dying he’ll say “I told you I kill vermin on my farm”.

Yah going full Old Wounds Owen bang-bang Reva here. Either Kenobi shows up too late or Owen for the save.

It shouldve ended like that. Owen is not a terribly good shot sadly.

I'm just here to praise Joel Edgerton to the highest heights. What a beaut.

Letting Ben say hi to his nephew though? That was an eye roll for me.

It's too nice of a concession for Owen's disposition, and I didn't need to see Ben and Luke meeting for the first time. And "hello there" was simply a blatant pander.

I thought "Would you like to meet him?" was a brilliant line - for the audience and for Obi-Wan. Owen was being a good father by allowing his adoptive son to meet new people which adds to his character rather than being one-sided. The audience appreciates the significance of the line for Obi-Wan and how he is "accepted", albeit briefly, before wandering into the desert again.

"Hello there" was just fun. And is something you say to kids when you don't really know them. Or something we say in high-tension, life or death situations...

Owen was allowed to be the grumpy old guy he's in ANH, but they emphasized with a sledgehammer that above all that he's a good and kind man who loves Luke and will give his life for his stepbrother's son. In that they've taken the character, expanded him in a direction I felt was natural to the character I interpreted him to be in the brief time we know him in ANH rather than AOTC.

Just add to that, this series has highlighted what a great bit of casting for AOTC to get Joel Edgerton and Jimmy Smits to play the crucial characters that would shape who Luke and Leia will become.

yah Owen is crusty but he let Ben have a moment with Luke because he's grateful and ultimately cares about the kid a lot.

I think Owen and Beru having an entire armory as a back up is probably why the Troopers had to burn the homestead, they probably went with the Auto Destruct Sequence to take all the troopers out.

Owen and Beru were a highlight of this series. Owen for his relationship with Obi Wan, the small change it went through felt so big. Beru was a badass, not going to run away she was determined to protect her home. So good to see Bonnie P- she looks great!

I liked Beru's line blaming Owen for Obi Wan being gone. A small line that revealed a lot about her character's place in the story & her relationship with Owen, Luke, and Kenobi.

Heh I liked the little touch in Joel Edgerton's performance when Beru blamed him, like "damn I knew I was gonna catch hell for that" [face_laugh]

I kind of agree that Owen letting Ben see Luke was a questionable character moment, we know they aren't going to become quick friends or anything after all they're still distant to each other years later. I can kind of see what they were going for, Luke clearly knows Ben in ANH and Owen is clearly shaken from Reva's appearance. Just felt weird.
But seriously he and Beru were amazing, and the actors do an amazing job bridging their characters between the PT and OT.

If there's ever a second series I want to see Owen and Luke walking along after working out on the flats and Owen telling Luke "we're going to get hell from your aunt when we get back".

Luke could reply "no you're going to get it uncle" with a grin.

Yes, and when Obi-Wan says Luke should be raised as a normal kid, and that he’ll stay away from them now, I imagine Owen keeps him to that - strictly. He gave him that moment to meet Luke, then let him go. There’s plenty of scope for Owen to increase his protectiveness of Luke and become an old grump.

100%. I agree, letting Obi-Wan meet Luke added to Owen's character. It shows the good kind of man he is. It was also nice to see how he and Beru genuinely love Luke like a son-he's not just some kid the Jedi dropped off to them, but they actually give of themselves to protect him. It's touching-and makes their death in ANH that much more tragic. And not to mention Obi-Wan kind of earned it-he did just help them with Reva. I felt like that was Owen realizing that, and acknowledging what Luke meant to him. It was good for the audience too-cos Luke DID know Ben in ANH, albeit only a little.

I thought "hello there" was just perfect for the moment, and for us fans! After all-there's nothing wrong with just a little fan service, as long as it fits well in the narrative-which it totally did!

Honestly all of this are even more reasons than what I've said elsewhere about how great this series was!!

I think they'll bump into one and other from time to time in Anchorhead, OWK has agreed to let Luke grow up on the farm but when the time is right he still fully intends to train Luke. If anything Qui-Gon showing up makes that a certainty.

May be Owen relaxes a bit more, it's not like he's banishing OWK from Tatooine because he's threatened by him, he just doesn't want Luke to suffer the same fate as Anakin. May be OWK initially keeps his distance but something happens that will change this, may be Beru is the instigator to having OWK visiting now and then. We certainly never got Beru's opinion of the situation yet, from ANH it would seem she's far more pragmatic towards OWK and the situation with Luke's future.

Season 2 could start like this and something occurs bringing a different kind of danger than Reva to the Lars moisture farm, causing OWK to need to be proactive again. It then doesn't go the way OWK expects and puts Luke into more danger than not, causing Owen to ban OWK from coming anywhere near the farm ever again, much to Beru's annoyance. But then that would only be one strand of the seasons story arc, like seaon one there will be more and take OWK to other parts of the galaxy.
