Incredibly tense as I said. I loved the realism. I know it’s said so often, but it really is true. They’ve been planning this mission for months, and everything has gone smoothly in their heads. I loved the way the reality was quite different, from some of them getting apparent cold feet, to the reaction of some of the Imperials. Just reinforces the notion that you never truly know how anything is going to go until you’re there, doing it. We’ve all been there.

I also liked how the deaths of some of the characters wasn’t accompanied by any cheesy “last moments”. People just got shot and died.

What if there were thermal detonators that looked just like rocks? That could certainly up the tension of negotiations. The holder could even make a clicking sound with their mouth, and then start whistling like a meadowlark.
Maybe it's just a rock....... or maybe it isn't.

Incredibly tense and action-packed. I wouldn't complain if every SW project after this was as gritty and dark. This, for me, is a game changer. The only thing that jarred with me was that perhaps they should have locked the doors to the vault so that they couldn't be disturbed during the heist? Seemed like an obvious thing to do. But anyway - 9/10!!

Loved the series so far...But this was a big disappointment considering the build up. We really didnt need half of this episode to keep ramping up the tension, **** should have just happened straight away that way the action could have taken its time with twists and turns and some heroic sacrifices. Instead we get a fairly formulaic heist with at least two characters getting shot from long distance. The music as well seemed very subdued and didnt seem to add to any tension. Also Cassian hasn't changed her basically the same as when the Aldhani arc began.

One of the commenters on this video believed that Cinta's tears were for Vel (not being able to see her for a long time), not because she executed anyone. But I can understand the confusion.

Cinta didn't execute anyone, she did shot the engineer though, but not really execution. Hostages are seen alive watching the Eye after Cinta has left the building.

    9/10 for me.

I get the grumblings over the pacing in this series so far or the odd spots to end as episode cliffhangers but I don't care. This series has been pitch-perfect so far to me. From characterization to tone to plot, the production values are excellent. So with every episode, I'm drawn into Cassian's slice of the GFFA to such a degree that I get upset when the credits suddenly pop up. I want to see more!

The heist was well executed from the action within the compound juxtaposed with the Aldani watching ceremony. I hate Hate HATE that Nemik died but somehow it's more understandable from it being an accident rather than he trying to be some early Rebel hero trying to outshoot/save someone else.

As for Skeen, he got what he deserved. During his whole spiel to Cassian over stealing the money, I kept thinking that he's just gonna wait till he's able to murder Cassian and take it all. So I have no qualms over Cassian shooting him first. And as someone pointed out earlier up-thread, no hesitation, no talking, Cassian just does it. The silence is overwhelming and hypnotic, kudos to Diego for the reaction shots every time Cassian does this.

Yeah, how exactly is Cinta getting off Aldani?.....

    Just watching this psycho-killer do his work I'm reminded of;

SENATOR MON MOTHMA: Yes, but Saw Gerrera’s an extremist.

    CASSIAN ANDOR: Hold my beer.

It was obvious from Rogue One alone that there are extremist elements within Mon Mothma's faction (such as General Draven). I suspect when Saw appears in this show we will get the contrast between his Partisan's and the likes of Draven and Andor that will justify her breaking with Saw's group but sticking with her own morally flexible Intelligence division.

I had to check it myself, but indeed they were not killed. So Rebels kept their word. They are after all good guys despite everything. Would've been bit dark to have them murder children after all.

I'll have to rewatch, but I thought the last time we saw them alive was when the freighter took off. I assumed Cintas was still in the room with them at that point.

I think she already left at that point, she is not seen there at least. And she is later seen outside. It is true we cannot be sure what happened there, but I get the impression that hostages were not executed since we see them alive without Cinta and we don't see or hear them being shot. Later we see Cinta leaving with tears in her eyes though.

It was no way necessary for them to kill hostages so if Cinta killed them it was her own decision. Interesting really, we can probably interpret that scene either way now. Not sure if it was confirmed what happened. Maybe they tell it later.

Wookieepedia says "During the next minutes, Kaz dressed herself in an Imperial officer's uniform and turned off the facility's lights at the predetermined time. She left the hostages behind when she exited to the Old Temple where the Dhani pilgrims and their Imperial escorts were viewing the Eye."
But sure that is only based on what is seen in the episode and it really is bit hard to tell.

My initial takeaway was/is she killed them. I base it off the episode quite conspicuously starting with the reveal that "they butchered her entire family" and ending with her walking down the hill with tears in her eyes but also not seeming the least bit concerned that anyone will possibly be following her out of the base.
It was all well and good that others in the group kept saying that nobody would be killed, yet Cinta is the person who shot and killed Petigar before seeing if diplomacy was going to work. She is the one who most explicitly has it in her.

My initial takeaway is that she didn't. Running out the door or looking obsessively over her shoulder is going to attract a lot of attention, whereas walking calmly is the best hope of getting away. Not difficult to lock up the hostages long enough to be gone before they can tell anyone to chase after her. That said, they don't give us enough to know for sure, and there are some interesting character possibilities if she went off-script and murdered the hostages. Especially if it leads to her falling out of favor with the Mon/Luthen faction and attracting the attention of Saw's Partisans. I think the story will emphasize the contrast between those groups, this could be a lead-in to starting that storyline.

Now we're getting somewhere. Absolutely stunning cinematography, and I loved the tension before the action. It took a while, but now I'm really enjoying this show. Even our 13 year old is begging for more of this.

This. I'm convinced she killed them all. Out of a mix of revenge for her murdered family, and the simple fact that those Imperials...know what she and her crew look like.

    Just watched this episode today.

Well the heist is finally set in motion, and this episode is certainly a lot more entertaining than the previous one. Clem is revealed as an ex-stormtrooper. Maybe he's got the Finn attitude of regrets on killing civilians. As the plan goes into motion, the rebels wear obviously confiscated Imperial uniforms. I don't recall it being explained exactly how they got the clothing. You've gotta admit that it was pretty convenient that the Imperial Sergeant's family was on the planet, for the rebels to use the wife and daughter as hostages. The celestial Eye event was pretty cool. I didn't know what to expect from that leading up to all of the hype. The rebels make their escape, but leave Cinta to fend for herself in an Imperial uniform. Guess she picked the short end of the straw. Arvel was a liar about his brother and the farm being wiped out; only in it for the money. No missing him. I kind of expected Karis to be somewhat expendable. He was going off on some philosophical ramblings, and that's typically a nail in the coffin. The last we see of Cassian, he seems to be running away; just accepting his payment and going his own way. Knowing that there's a handful of more episodes and of course his role in R1, we know that won't last too long.
