Even if Dedra will be reprimanded or demoted for fiasco on Ferrix, IMO, a year-long timeskip will be sure enough for her to get back on her feet.

It's debatable. Since she's the top ranking officer on Ferrix, it would seem that she would take the blame.
However, Partagaz said the ISB doesn't handle security, that's for the military. The ISB are "health care providers" identifying sickness.
Well, Dedra was doing her job in identifying that "sickness" as she was on Cassian's tail. She can't do the military's job of handling security as well.
Granted, the military didn't anticipate a much larger crowd gathering earlier than allowed. And they didn't expect the kind of speech Maarva would deliver, nor anticipate the pipe bomb.
Dedra's best course of action would be to shift blame to the military captain.

The Ferrix fiasco is the result of people getting tired of the Empire's wide-reach suppressive measures.
Dedra was against those measures, because she realized that it was Axis' plan all along, and that they were just helping the rebellion.

This is true. And I’m guessing that this will not matter at all. She will take the fall. Because this is the Empire, not a utopian meritocracy.

It's interesting how Dedra's career goes from now on. Will Partagaz defend her or not. It's obvious that it wasn't her fault what happened, at least completely. Sure she was responsible of torturing Bix, but it was Imperial captain that attacked civilians. She failed to capture Andor and all the hell broke loose. She could be blamed for this for sure. Empire has done this before.

I’m almost 100% certain that she’s going to get thrown under the bus for what happened.

We'll see. Partagaz liked her though, and she was not one to blame really, will Partagaz see this? Or will she be pressured by Yularen to give up on her anyway? But as said interesting and we'll see.

It's a one year time jump (or more) for her next appearance, so presumably any consequences for Dedra will have played out and we'll witness the aftermath of them?

What situation do you envisage? Demotion? Expulsion? Life with Syril?

In her last conversation with Partagaz, he made it clear that his approach to the Kreegyr operation wasn’t about effectiveness in quelling the rebellion, but rather, the internal political objective of placating Palpatine who was raging about Aldhani. The Emperor will want someone to take the fall for Ferrix too. Rebels will need to die, yes, but Imperials will also be held responsible. And either Partagaz will throw Dedra under the bus, or Yularen will throw Partagaz and all his ISB supervisors under the bus. With, I bet, Blevin taking advantage of the situation. I wouldn’t be surprised if Blevin throws Partagaz under the bus and goes directly to Yularen to explain that the fiasco was caused by Partagaz putting his faith in Dedra and letting her break established rules. This would all happen offscreen, of course, as S2 will pick up a year later. But this is what I think might happen.

In any event, there will be buses and people will be thrown under them.

Well I'm not sure if Ferrix would be big enough to cause Partagaz being thrown under the bus right after Kreegyr success. Also throwing all ISB supervisors under the bus seems unlikely for rebellion on what is rather minor planet after all. I think this sort of stuff has happened before in the Empire causing planet to become even warzone like Mimban or Kashyyyk. It seems that Yularen underestimated this entire Axis-thing and it's likely Dedra with her theories will be thrown under the bus.

But as said we will see and there are several scenarios how it could play out. That is what I think is interesting. And yes it's likely there will be buses and people will be thrown under them.

But still it could even be that Partagaz will be thrown under the bus and Yularen actually promotes Dedra. She was right about Andor and Ferrix being the key to all of this Axis thing. Focusing on Kreegyr was a mistake after all. It all depends on how much insight ISB superiors have and will Ferrix fiasco be seen as important or not. Has Yularen lost all his previous tactical genius and become just arrogant lackey for the Emperor? Partagaz knew Kreegyr thing was not that important in the end, just tried to please his superiors. Will Yularen and Emperor see through this or not? It depends on that. If they see Ferrix as minor insignificant rebellion on planet to be crushed they may throw Dedra under the bus with it. If they see the significance of Andor and Axis being connected to it, they throw Partagaz under the bus for focusing on wrong thing. They didn't need to crush Kreegyr so totally, they would have needed more security on Ferrix instead. They had chance to capture Axis there even. It was Partagaz who failed by directing everyone's attention to Kreegyr.

Also will Emperor see that there is mole in ISB? He has the abilities after all. Or does he care more about competition of his underlings and let them to figure it out to see if any of them are of real use to his Empire? Dedra has been the most effective in intrigue, what if Emperor himself become interested in her abilities? Sure I don't think we actually see Palpy in this show, but we may start with timeskip and backstory.

I wonder if we'll see some of them overreact and commit a full blown massive atrocity.

We know the Ghorman massacre is coming up after a bit.

Something else that IMHO could serve as a stepping stone to the full Death Star planetary destruction, would be a Base Delta Zero operation on an inhabited world - where a warship in orbit cranks its turbolasers up to full power, and reduces a planet's surface to molten slag.

It could be either a full planetary BDZ, or a partial destruction, of a city or a country-sized area.

If I've learned anything from the last few years it's that terrible people often don't suffer consequences. Actually I've known that for a while. :p

I think Dedra will be fine. Maybe she'll get a little flack for Ferrix but I don't think we're going to find her working in the cubicle next to Karn in season two, (even though I joked that should be a few weeks back. Hey-o!)

Maybe Ferrix will actually be seen as a wake up call for the Empire and instead of being punished, Dedra will still be playing a big role in tracking down rebel activity.

Well, that's pretty true, Mustache. Realistic, but true. But we overthrew fascists, corporatists, and white nationalists on this site, so we must be doing something right. Hehehe. ;)

Anyhow, I just want to know more about Dedra's background. I may not agree with her agenda, but I'm curious as to how she got this way. She reminds me of some 1990s Imperial characters from the EU, but she's pretty concise, businesslike, and ruthless. I liked how Bix momentarily got under her skin.

But I will say my only critique of this show as that Bix was the damsel too much. She is a smart person who knows more about computers and technology than others. I'm glad that Vel, Mon, Cinta, and other women in the show got a ton to do. But Bix needs more love. As for Dedra, well, I think she could be a pretty good director of the ISB, honestly, but she would be about as scary as Darth Zannah, Darth Cognus, and the Dark Woman. While that's a compliment, I think I'd be the only one enjoying it thoroughly. Lol. Being scared.

What's the name of the Jedi spymaster from the clone wars? The one who dated the immortal tree lady in secret? Yeah, he was awesome. Dedra doesn't have the Force, but if she had more experience under her belt, she could match wits with him, and she and Thrawn would give him a run for his money.

If there is a time to show full on sweaty, saucy, "don't look away" villain love, this would be the time in SW to do it. Just this one time.

Agreed. Dedra has demonstrated that she is one of the most ruthless and intelligent leaders in the ISB. So, they can't afford to lose her. Hunting Rebels is what she lives for.

Yeah, she definitely hates him. She's disgusted by him. I'll be interested to see if she tries to use him before getting him killed for the sake of a scheme or something.

Nah I totally think this is Young Space Fascists in Love. She eventually succumbs to Karn's creepy ways. I expect the time jump to have them already cohabitating on Courscant.
