Warped - Kessel Run Challenge 2023 Week 8 is up!

 

A quick question, if I may: must the fic include said pairing actively/be from their pov? Or can the pairing be the primary focus of the fic through the eyes/lens of other characters? (i.e. a conversation between two affected by said pairing discussing said pairing)

 

Good question! The fic does not have to be told from the POV of either of the characters in the pairing. The scenario you've described would work great. Hope that helps!

 

Alrighty then! In that case, here is A Certain Point of View, for my Week 8.

 

My entry for week 8 is up: The Grand Admiral's Wife.

And for those of you who have read Ἀνάγκη and are wondering from the title how much I eviscerated my OTP: yes, I went there.

Also, apologies to all those to whom I owe reviews. It was a happy but busy family long weekend, and then DRL turned up in the form of a plumber, and as everyone knows dealing with plumbers and plumbing is the worst part of adulting.

 

Usually, I have no trouble multi-shipping, but the only idea that is more than Random Character X/Random Character Y is depressing as heck and I can't convince myself that it is actually a romantic relationship.

 

If it helps: "I hate you / I hate you more" and "I hate you / don't bother, I hate myself more" are perfectly valid romantic dynamics.

This is how I write Vaderdala which is definitely depressing as heck. But they still have those memories of those past interactions and that past love; it's not a pretty or healthy romance, but maybe it shouldn't be, because Vader kinda sucks.

 

Finished Week 8.

Now to finish Week 3 and maybe actually start writing the long vignette and get caught up on all the awesome reading and do all the RL stuff that needs done. A girl can dream, right?

 

So I went ahead and wrote that 2nd-person POV fic, probably against my better judgement: The Tables Turned.

I'll be attending an online seminar next week, so I probably won't be around much. I'll try to review as many of everyone's stories as I can before that, but I apologise preemptively for the delay in some reviews.

Oh and @ViariSkywalker chances are that I'll be taking my bye week starting on Monday, so please put me down for that. If I manage to write my week 9 story in time, I'll drop you a line. Thanks

I need to take my bye week this week; this prompt is kicking my shebs and DRL continues to throw stuff at me at the same time.

 

I am most emphatically not a multi- or crack-shipper. Never have been, never will be. This was probably harder to write than a poem or double drabbles. But the prompt is the prompt, so here we are: Detour

Updated for Week 8, and I used the "get out of jail free" prompt.

 

Since sleep is important and my one idea is going to take a bit, I think I'm going to have to settle for this week being late. (Unless somehow tomorrow my typing fingers grow little wings. ) Hopefully I'll make it to one of the moderate-level goals though, and I do plan to finish the fic if possible! Actually I plan to finish all of them, on time or no. So wish me luck on that.

That's it, that's the prompt! You guys can thank @Mira_Jade for this one; it was one of my assigned prompts for last year's Kessel Run, and it was just too good not to use. You don't have to make this poetry, although if you want to, you can. You have one week to write and post your monologues.

I also want to quickly remind everyone that the long vignettes are due in four weeks, and we will be posting those during Week 12. So if you're like me and you haven't made much (or any) progress, this is a good time to start thinking about it! And if you have any questions about reverse narratives, don't hesitate to ask.

Can the story be in a 5+1 or similar format, where it's kind of little snippets set at various points of time, as long as it's chronologically 'end to beginning'?

I overthink everything so I always have a question, sorry.
