Why are folks getting so down on Hunter's parenting? He did a fairly good job comforting Omega and getting her to her senses after Tech's death. Sure his character has been defined by protecting Omega and that's more important to the narrative now than ever. But she just doesn't seem to understand the word "No" most of the time. So it was easier for her to become a full-fledged member of the team. It's so frustrating because it seems like everything would have been fine if it wasn't for Saw ****ing Gerrera. The infighting between the groups and both had their points. I can't imagine The Bad Batch will ever get along with Saw's group after this. I knew this duo of episodes was going to be different when Hunter was throwing Storm Troopers off the tower.

This was like riding a launched rollercoaster in the rain. It seems fun, it stings, the eyes water, and then suddenly I slam into the break run. Not been a good three weeks for dry eyes when watching animated stuff and there were definitely tears when Tech made his sacrifice. His last line "When have we ever followed orders?" called back to the series premiere. Wrecker seems really broken. I didn't get death flags from Tech saying bye to Phee. It was a surprise. I don't know if I trust him to actually be dead. It's implied info off Tech's body or possibly from him alive pointed Hemlock in Cid's direction.

I hope they just do a cutover to Cid in the middle of one of her schemes with some dangerous gangster and she dies brutally. Since she treated them like dirt and sold them out The Bad Batch isn't there to save her. Goggles practically saved her last time. That would be a fitting end but Cid will probably get atonement for this later.

This is what the season was building toward. There is no escaping the Empire or the crap sack galaxy that exists in the wake of the Republics' fall. Even without that, the Galaxy is still a dangerous place. There can be hope for a future where The Bad Batch can settle down and stop being soldiers. But Omega is going to drag them headlong into fighting the empire now and into the mysteries surrounding Hemlock. What the Empire's secret plans are. Hunter made his declaration they are going to get Omega back no matter what. Allies have been made along the way. Additionally, Hunter and Echo could target the Imperial Officers that were at the summit besides Tarkin and Hemlock. Additionally, Omega is now with Crosshair, and who knows what those two will pull off.

We have to be getting a season 3 since this ended on a cliffhanger with Omega being kidnapped and the big "I'm your sister" reveal.

Tech is my favorite clone on this series. He's not dead! His "tech" knowledge is needed by the team.
However, if he is dead.... If you would permit me...

Taking Omega to the fortress of one of the most powerful figures in the Empire is pretty insanely stupid, one must admit.

I mean he fell to his death, but we don't see a body and Hemlock said that the goggles were all that could be salavaged. Thats not a definitive statement that he is dead. Hell, maybe they will release a season 3 teasor at Celebration next week.

I'd say go back and watch it, but every time I watch that ep in Rebels it is heart breaking. Kanan's sacrifice was one of the most emotional episodes in all of Star Wars. He was definitely gone and the fallout for all the main characters was brutal, there was no question he was gone. Plus Kanan was one of the most likeable and compelling characters going around - a real Jedi with limitations and flaws and one of essentially a VERY endangered species. As it stands right now, we aren't even sure Tech is actually dead, so it doesn't carry close to the same weight in my opinion.

I gave it a 9/10. A very well done episode. Obviously people will remember this one for Tek's sacrifice (unless he somehow survived). It's all hindsight, but you almost could've expected something bad was going to happen as Tarkin sent the air support to attack the stuck rail cars. So we see later on Cid selling out the gang to the Empire. Guess that'll be the last we'll see of her in any future episode. Good riddance; I never liked her particularly anyway. So last but not least, we find out who that woman working with the scientist is; apparently she's Omega's (and therefore Boba's) sister?

This is an interesting point. They really didn't show us how the Empire learned about the BB's connection to Cid, did they? I doubt Hemlock could gather much info from Tech (whether alive or dead), but it was either that, something unexplained, or Cid outright contacting them of her own volition. The last option would be super screwed up.

The last option is the impression I got, and I think it makes sense given Cid's last message to the Batch. Even under the injured-and-mourning circumstances, I would've expected Cid to be more frosty about the Batch being back at her place.

Tech became a goner the moment Phee developed an interest in him. All romantic relationships must end in tragedy under Disney.

It's just so freaking brutal, if true. If she was approached by the Empire and couldn't say no, it's one thing, but to actively rat them out? Ooof. But I suspect you're right.

If Tech is alive I will start to seriously question whether or not Filoni should have so large a hand in writing these stories.

    1. Won't believe Tech's dead until I see the body. I know Filoni well enough for that by now. I'd bet the force Saw saved him.

    2. The "Reveal" at the end was a bit overdone and I honestly didn't care that much.

But overall good episode, Cid's betrayal was well done if predictable. Action was high quality.

I assume they went to Cid's because Omega's injuries were severe. Ord Mantell was simply closer and they knew Cid had what they needed. Something like that. I guess now we know how Ord Mantell came to be occupied by the Empire. It seemed like when she tried to serve Wrecker at the bar she was trying to warn him but it was too late. It's possible Cid's Pub has been under Imperial watch since Crosshair tried to send out his warning. They were already twisting her arm. Still makes it brutal. Also possible they got the info off Tech.

Just don't trust Tech to be dead. Although it would definitely be cheaper if he wasn't unless it's very well executed. It is notable that between the flying lessons and going all the way back to season 1 Omega has been learning a lot from Tech. She may be capable of taking over his old role. I remember the old predictions of Omega eventually showing up in live-action with a hodgepodge of gear from her team. I hope that won't be the case. Echo's going to be back with the team for a long haul too. I think he shoulders responsibility for what happened. Also pays out when he told Omega in the second episode. If he had to choose again, he would choose to save her all over again. I wonder what was the other mission Rex was on.

I hope Crosshair isn't going to be shattered or really messed up mentally. I kind of wanted him to get up, see Omega was there, and react to a **** ton of bad news.

A rocky series but it absolutely stuck the landing for me with that finale

I’m a big fan of series not just ending with happy endings and everything turning out miraculously okay, so this was a very welcome bleak ending to the series

Tech’s death wasn’t anywhere near as heartbreaking as in Rebels, but he’s by far my favourite character and so I did find his death to be a complete gut punch mid episode. It was actually Echo sitting next to the empty seat that really got me, but he went out like a true soldier. I can’t 100% say with confidence that he’s gone, as this is Star Wars, but I’m pretty certain he is

Really interesting to see where the story goes from here. The BB are 3 members down without Omega, Tech and Crosshair, so it’s going to be intriguing to see where the story picks up in S3.

I guessed the reasoning for going to Cid’s was just out of sheer panic, and not going to Pabu because they clearly had a lot of heat and didn’t want to risk the people of Pabu ?

I do wish we’d start to actually get some meat to the bones of this cloning. Dr Hemlock is a great villain, but between 2 series of BB and The Mandalorian the same things are constantly being hinted at without any actual progression

Looking forward to the clone uprising in S3, using the clones as test subjects has really added another layer of evil to the empires’ doings

Writing the dialogue in each episode is one thing, writing the main plot and how the story will go is another.
I am pretty sure that all the narrative choices and the general direction are Filoni's ideas.
Having said that, I do not think that Tech survived.
    (A) He wasn't in the room with the other clones being experimented on
    (B) His death scene and the entire episode were directed in a manner that felt meaningful and morbid.

And now that I said that.... I did shed a few tears, therefore I clearly rate this episode with a 10/10.

The Bad Batch has now grown into its own very awesome thing as opposed to a Clone Wars spinoff, and I am loving it.

Not Filoni, in star wars bassically everyone who fall into abyss, will survive eventually, except Mace Windu.
