Now the real question here is: If my RPing causes someone to die of alcohol poisoning, will tom then attempt to draft me?

Depends on how well you sim and if you only pitched a short season... then I might do it.

I max out at 70mph at the batting cages. And I'm pretty damn sketch at that speed.

If you don't use the search button, take a drink.
If you don't go back one or two pages in the thread to look to see if a guy was drafted, get blitzed!

80 is a good changeup, not an eephus.

    #checkpoint

FYI, starting tomorrow afternoon I'll be off the grid for a couple of days on a backpacking trip in Virginia on the Appalachian Trail. I won't get another checkpoint before I leave tomorrow afternoon (too much prep work to do) and it will be late Sunday night when I get home, so probably Monday or Tuesday before the next spreadsheet update.

Ok I'm heading to Chicago for C2E2 this weekend and won't be around - my next pick is completing the Tinkers to Evers to (Frank) Chance (1903) trio. I know it's technically not my turn while somehow always being my turn, but if RX takes him now I'm gonna premaban RX and steal all his players anyways, so that's my next pick.

Assuming I come back up on the clock this weekend I humbly allow the group to come up with a way to make my pick(s) for me until Sunday afternoon at which time I will return and can make my own.

You can always send a group of players to @DarthIntegral via PM before you go.

It'll make up for RX taking everyone's players, that's for sure

A couple of quick housekeeping items

First, I finally got around to fully installing OOTP 24. I moved my sandbox game for scouting reports from 23 to 24. The methodology there was to just use the "import an OOTP 23 game", rather than reimport everyone. I suspect moving vs. re-importing will have some kind of difference on the scouting and rankings, but whatever. I'll do a full new import when it's time to build the "real: game.

Second, related to the above, the next time you request a scouting report, I'll update your spreadsheet with what is showing in OOTP 24. Two of you already have this. I haven't seen much movement on base ratings, to be honest, though I have seem some decent movement on the smaller stuff, including a few seemingly minor changes that I think might result in a new frontrunner for the Cy Young Award.

Third, also related to the first item, is some good news / bad news. The good news is I can get a much wider range of international players to import, including historical seasons from international leagues for active players. The bad news? they all suck. Maybe worth a free agent signing or 31-32 round pick if there's someone you absolutely love. The medium news? I think a good portion of the suckage is a database issue, because every international player I've imported has some of the same root cause issues (for example, every single one of them so far has a rating of "1" for BABIP). I say this because ... well, if the database gets fixed, the players might become more viable. But that'd be a gamble I'm not sure even Pete Rose would take.

Fourth, I love each and every one of you. I really do. And **** my depression. **** it in it's ***, mouth, and ****, plus both of its eyes. Hasa Diga Eebowai

Just warning you that Into couldn't get my HS classmate who played in the SIM from virtually the same type of entry
Didn't the Japanese League not resign licensing with OOTP? Or did I read that wrong in my head somewhere?

Also, I have seen a lot of movement on base ratings, which could just be "import variation" of course. :p

Since Cubbie technically made his pick, and RX seemingly did not steal yet another player, would it now be on @heels1785 ?

There are a lot less leagues you can play as in 24, went from pretty much everything around the world to just the MLB, KBO and American independents. Not sure how it effects the database though.

hmmm, that's interesting. Someone should suggest a KBO player they are interested in and I should see how they import. And yes, @heels1785 is on the clock, making the pick that is FOR SURE GOING TO MAKE IT HEELS YEAR

I probably would have drafted him again but I’ve switched over to the mostly just starters in the pen strategy that seems to be working so well for everyone else.
