The product of five authors (Kristin Baver, Jason Fry, Amy Richau, Cole Horton, and Clayton Sandell), Star Wars Timelines is currently slated for release on February 7, 2023.

I’ll be watching to see if 1,050 BBY is indeed the date the Darksaber was created and how that connected with the liberation of Coruscant in 1,032 BBY.

Also if any Visions content gets canonised.

Per previously released preview pages, 0 ABY does exist - it's 0 BBY that has gone away.

Do we know what TV series' its going to cover? I know the Mandalorian, but Boba Fett, Obi-Wan and Andor too? Or did it go into production before those?

A nd then this one again with 3 new pages. And then that one again with yet three more new pages. And then this one again with no more pages but reformatted so that pictures and textblocks are in different places. And last but not least, this one in a collected box set with other likewise themed books by DK with no new pages but a bonus poster that also is online for free.

I mean the only way you avoid that is by Star Wars ending.

    And we don't want that.

Especially because it would end and they'd never do a final DK Timelines book to include all the content anyway.

There are references on the preview page above to Shadow of the Sith, and that was released a few days after the final episode of Obi-Wan, so as far as TV series go I think it's logical that it would probably cover at least up to Obi-Wan. As far as Andor goes, if I'm not mistaken this book was originally supposed to release next month, and Andor season 1 would have still been ongoing as of that original release date. So personally I would not expect this to cover Andor.

On the other hand, Kristin Baver's DK book Skywalker: A Family at War book contained a subtle reference to the final episode of Obi-Wan well over a year before that episode aired, so the writers do have access to upcoming scripts. Or, maybe the three month delay will allow the writers to fit it in? I guess we'll find out in February!

Amazon lists this book as coming out in April, yet the newest issue of Insider says it comes out in February. I wonder which it's supposed to be?

I'd go by Amazon as the info might have changed while Insider was being printed.

Amazon has a handful of new preview pages up, covering portions of Light of the Jedi, Fallen Order, the Mandalorian, and Obi-Wan Kenobi's timeline (including references to the Kenobi series and the semi-recent Padawan novel).

Though interestingly it calls Lenahra "Jolenra"; possibly an earlier name for the planet? Which might suggest these pages aren't the final ones.

It's also slightly odd that the Tantive IV jumps from the Battle of Scarif in 1 BBY but arrives at Tatooine an hour later in "0". Surely the days leading up to the Battle of Yavin should still be 1 BBY, including the preceding events in ANH?

The weird thing about that is, it's a change from the original version of that preview page, which actually did list those events as occurring in 1 BBY:

Also, "0" as opposed to "0 ABY" is another change from the original set of preview pages. I'm hoping this all makes a bit more sense in the finished book.

Main thing I want out of this is for it to confirm how much time has passed in the Mandoverse

I was hyped for the book...

great authors, epic map... but the more preview pages they show the more my exitement is killed actually. Terrible DK design, useless pictures, timelines in odd shapes and with not enough dates on it if any at all and uncertain if distances on the timeline can be measured to arrive at exact dates where none is given. Even text bubbles so far look not interesting and as if there is no new intel.

So what can we expect of it actually still? No big jumps maybe but what are the most likely/largest takeaways we can expect?

    Initial things I’ve noticed.

c 2,500 BBY - the Drengir and Sith alliance begins and ends

c1,100 BBY - Shaa and Momin lived

    c1,050 BBY - Darksaber created

All of Mandalorian season 1 and 2 and BoBF are in 9 ABY.

29 ABY the First Order takes Corellia

    Next things.

    Chiss timeline…

5100 BBY the Ascendancy is founded…

5000 BBY the Chiss acquire Starflash.

4300 BBY a terrible war costs the Chiss all their worlds save for Csilla, and they use the Starflash to save them.

It includes that they were drawn into the wars of the Republic circa 3650 to 3450 BBY!

The Vagaari are defeated c27 BBY too.

Oh, fascinating. Here I thought they were likely going to put the sith's entire history into the thousand year period that Lucas described.

Well, admittedly books of this type are easy to retcon if they ever make a movie or something that contradicts it, but it does look like for now they are going for an extended conflict or series of conflicts.
