Especially since he apparently hadn't read the books.
Although I didn't really care for his rather blandly dressed less fun version of Dumbledore, he certainly played the part well enough

Huston or Harris didn’t read the books? I can see both of them not reading them for different reasons.

Huston wouldn’t need to for the voice role, with his background he could shape a performance from the script.

And it doesn’t seem like Harris’s interest. Harris is such a perfect kindly old man in Gladiator and Harry Potter it’s easy forget he usually played more of a likable scoundrel in movies which was a bit more close to the public persona he promoted.

Air Safety Institute’s Richard McSpadden Dies In Crash - FLYING Magazine

This one is a Monday morning punch in the gut. I've been reading his magazine articles and columns for years, and I've shared some of his early analyses in the Airline Disaster thread. He was a USAF colonel, led the Thunderbirds airshow team, and after retiring from the air force he also became known for his bush pilot skills while writing excellent articles on aviation safety. Now, who's going to do the early analysis of his crash?

I'm a fan of Air Crash Investigation, shown on National Geographic here in the UK. Not sure if he was ever on the show but given his position the crash investigation might show up at some point.

This really sucks. What a horrible way to go when you've spent your life trying to prevent this...

If I had a nickel for every standing Senator that died this week id have 2 nickels, which isn't very much but it's weird that it happened twice.

I actually saw this first in sports news, as this is the rare celebrity twofer — the other passenger was retired NFL player Russ Francis, who was also an enthusiastic pilot.

Dick Butkus is such an underrated Brom Bones in the 1980 tv movie Sleepy Hollow.

Here he is with a chaotic Ichabod Crane.

He did a lot of acting for a time. Some dramas and also in a bunch of raunchy R rated comedies.

I'm not old enough to have seen him play but he still has a reputation of being one of the meanest & fiercest competitors to ever play. Locally he was always a sweet guy that made it hard to believe he was such a beast. He really softened his image with all his movie & tv appearances. He was also fun to listen to back when he did Bears games. Then when you see his highlights it's hard to believe its the same guy. It doesn't even look like the same game.

Him and Gale Sayers in the same draft. Amazing!

    RIP 51

@Django211 I grew up on bedtime stories of Sayers and Butkus since thanks to my mom's connection, my parents basically had field passes as they were on the 50 yard line right near the bench. My dad says to this day he never seen quite a pair like them even though they were outside of 65' on God awful teams. Nobody intimidated an opposing offense like Butkus. Just ask Ahmad Rashid who stated that they weren't willing to look the him in the eye, they were that intimidated. And yeah it's funny to think the same guy who was perhaps the most intimidating player in history was also the coach in the last few seasons on "Hang Time" LOL! And he was great on the radio broadcast as well.

He was at the Bears Opener last month and while he was using a cane to get around, he seemed to be doing well overall and in good spirits. Just hits hard because again growing hearing stories and he been around for so long.
As I said in another thread, Papa Bear got his MLB back for his heavenly team. RIP Dick!

Shawna Trpcic, who lately worked on a lot of Star Wars shows, but also did costumes for a lot of Joss Whedon's works, including Firefly.

Did she come up with the pretty floral bonnet? And the slinky dress? Jayne's hat?
