Why? It’s also just common courtesy for the sources you’re citing.

You don't have to, just say "from Bespin bulletin".

Linking to sources is good etiquette. They are the source of the information, and therefore deserve to have traffic to their site. It also makes it easier for people here to access and evaluate the information.

And “I don’t want to” is a pretty poor excuse.

"We started shooting in November" Gilroy said. "We're about halfway. We're gonna shoot through August. We're on exact schedule. [We'll] finish in August, spend another year on post. I suppose we'll come out the following August."

Gilroy said that at celebration. Here's an IGN link where I got the quote: https://www.ign.com/articles/star-wars-celebration-2023-andor-gets-august-2024-release-window

Since they're not done filming yet (apparently only a couple of weeks left) and we take Gilroy's word that it will be a solid year of post then we're most likely not getting S2 until 2025. Maybe a late December '24 release if we're lucky but I doubt it.

A shame, but I’d much rather they take their time and deliver the best possible show.

There's nothing in that Bespin Bulletin article of any substance to suggest it will be delayed. It might be, but there's no new information in the article at all. Also, just because they were given a year to do post production, it doesn't mean they need a full year - just that August is a natural time for it to be released - it could actually be finished a couple of months earlier. Also, while the strike has been on they've had a few months where they could've already started post production on what's already been shot (which is almost all of it).

With the rumour that Skeleton Crew may have been pushed back an entire year though it seems likely that Andor 2 will be delayed. Especially since they were unable to complete principal photography due to the SAG strike.

    Cast interviews form celebration

Can they and would they start post before filming is complete? Honest question as I honestly don't know.

I find that rumor hard to believe.

I mean I don't have any inside knowledge or anything, but if they've had 3 or 4 months where nothing's being happening, it would make sense to start working on post production on the stuff that they had filmed already (which apparently is most of the season). I imagine that's easier to do on a TV show, where you can do individual episodes, than on a movie.

Oh I'm not doubting the existence of that rumor, just that I find it hard to believe that Disney will sit on a completed show for a whole year. Anyway this isn't the Skeleton Crew thread so I'll just leave it at that.

Supposedly they only have a couple of weeks left of shooting but Idk if that includes re-shoots. Either way I doubt they would start post until all the necessary re-shoots are completed but that's just conjecture on my part.

Maybe in normal circumstances, where filming was still ongoing, they would've waited. But they've had a few months where they haven't been doing anything else, and unless they're planning on reshooting a significant amount of the season, they must have had visual effects sequences they could be working on, and likely whole episodes filmed that they could have started editing. I'd like to think they've been proactive in doing what they can during the wait.

The biggest question of all right now is...will Cassian get to touch Yabba's texture.

It’s just Jabba with a Spanish pronunciation. That’s how Diego Luna pronounces it when he hilariously talks about how obsessed he is with Jabba’s texture.

lol I had only seen one interview where Diego Luna talked about touching Jabba; I didn't realize he's talked about it so many times. I'm sure Luna would take a cameo role as a different background character in a future SW show or film that might feature a Hutt, just so he could satisfy his obsession with touching it. Too bad all the Hutts are CGI nowadays tho.

They almost certainly started post production immediately as shooting began. That's how it's usually done on TV shows, and with the amount of post needed for a SW show I can't imagine they'd wait until they're wrapped to begin post.

Besides, they wouldn’t know what reshoots they'd need unless they'd started editing.
