Mae, a former jedi padawan to Jedi master Sol and a Rogue warrior now. She is the main character of the show and supposedly The Acolyte of the Sith. Unlike other Sith, she dreses more purple. Maybe she goes from assassin to Acolyte.

Definitely digging her vibe. She’ll probably make being bad look cool.

I think the actor said he might be the only non force user main character.

Love her armor. Some kind of metal-bamboo look, sums up star wars pretty well.

Oh is that what he said

He said he was an ordinary citizen that gets caught up with the Jedi whether he likes it or not. I could be wrong but I think Qimir is just as ordinary as a Senator from Naboo or a banker from Muunilist, or a broker from Apatros!

Mae is the titular Acolyte right? That's what I'm assuming (although the creator's much publicized comments that the show 'isn't what you think it is' gives me pause.) Former Jedi padawan, 'rogue' warrior. I'm guessing Mae has ill feelings toward the Jedi for dismissing her.

It would be difficult if she is taken from her family as a baby or young child, raised in the temple, then summarily dismissed by the only family she's ever known. Where does she go? Back to the family who are strangers to her now or moved on with other children or to another planet? Could she even find them again? I remember something in the old EU about former Jedi younglings who didn't become padawans going to work for Jedi agriculturists at a farm or something like that. I'm not sure if that is Disney canon.

I'd assume these former padawans are ripe pickings for a Sith Lord looking for minions - especially if they left the Order not because of a lack of power, but instead a lack of discipline, failure to conform, or, more attractively, dark side tendencies.

Good points all around. I'd say it feels right on point as once you're dismissed, you are not allowed to use your power, even to save someone from harm. This could be the focus of the show (just a guess).
She does look good, I like the look and I think she'll shine in the show. And I ordered her 3.75 figure so she better be cool!

Jabba's guards are a pretty diverse bunch - it is actually kind of interesting given that other major crime syndicates seem to give their goons uniforms - but yeah I can see it fit into the general brown armor look of the skiff guards.

Probably just the most affordable kind of armor on the civilian market.

That looks more like leather than metal or bamboo, but I suppose I can see the resemblance from a quick glance.

It would be cool if it's Ahch-To. It would be interesting way for sith to hide in jedi world.

I get that. As I said, I do see the resemblance, I just like analyzing this stuff in detail when given half an excuse.

Personally, I'd prefer that place stay hidden and this be a new location. Plenty of planets with islands in the galaxy.

True. I suppose the desire to reuse models in the animated shows is the biggest reason for the gangs to have faceless uniformed goons - even the Hutts in clones wars mostly used Niktos in identical armor, though interestingly Jabba's personal forces were a bit more diverse in TCW than the Hutt council's forces, even if still limited in comparison to the movie skiff guards.

Still, even the live action stuff seems to have embraced it to some degree - notably the Pykes in Book of Boba Fett look pretty different than TCW, but still wear distinctive, almost uniform outfits - so there can still be some fun had in exploring in-universe reasoning.

Her name is Mae? Sounds a bit close to "Rey", doesn't it? I hoped for something more creative.

Mae sounds as much like Rey as Bill sounds like Jill.

In other words, it rhymes, but doesn’t have the same feeling at all. That one letter makes a big difference.

Isn’t ae a diphthong? Depending on its derivation, the name Mae could rhyme with pie, eye, sky (classic Latin), knee, pee, tea (Western Europe, depending on context), ha! gah! pah! (olde English).

If it does rhyme with Rey (which is the most likely) I don’t think we should take that as some kind of ominous omen that points to this show being a calamitous disaster. That would be bonkers.

Ah, I meant that Jabba's Guards were conceived way before we would see any of the other crime syndicates onscreen. There would be a lot of digital retconning to make their uniforms more uniform.
