I have to say I don't really get the point of this commentary. It is easy enough to point out all the reasons why a Jewish community needn't have forcibly displaced Palestinians.

It is very much weird to go beyond that and act like you don't understand the argument being made. Minorities in general describe feeling outside of or unwelcome in the broader culture. That's a pretty core component of being minoritized in the first place, and appears in the literature of several different marginalized groups. With regards to Jews in particular, there is the obvious point that formation of a Jewish state was galvanized by the Holocaust. It would seem more productive to address how/why that response was wrong and how the problems could have been better addressed than to simply feign ignorance. Why are we doing Twitter hot takes?

The Good Place had the name-dropping Tahani mention an anecdote about "her good friend Elon Musk", then immediately followed with "What an awful weirdo, why was I ever friends with him?"

 

Then there's Silicon Valley which rightly portrays all tech CEOs as horrible in their own special ways.

 

There are 212 House Democrats. You want us to be excited that there's "no daylight" between Trump and less than 10% of Democrats? That's the big damning evidence? That 90% of the Party disagrees with the Republican? That seems like a pretty good separation between groups to me.

The tweet didn't say all Democrats. It just said "them." In this case, them is Trump and the 21 Democrats in question.

 

Yes, but why do I care what 21 people and Donald Trump think?
