The way he was steaming his robes when Sol and Jecki came to see him. [face_laugh]

    Yord put your clothes on!
    Or not!
Depending on what the aim of this interaction is!

I found it real interesting that, at the very beginning of the show, Mae tells us that a Jedi doesn't ignite their lightsaber unless they intend to kill, and then Yord is literally the only Jedi to go around unnecessarily igniting his lightsaber in almost every scene he's in.

So far this guy feels very cringe, and not in an endearing way. I would not be surprised if he trips and falls at one point during a chase or something, might actually slip on a banana peel.

He fits Yoda's comments about Jedi arrogance and being too sure of themselves.

Yord feels like he constantly has something to prove- maybe as though he doesn't feel he earned his knighthood that he's only had for two years. He clearly looks up to Sol. Who was his Master? Did he want it to be Sol? While he once was friends with Osha, he had no problem going by the book and bringing her in.

He's an interesting character and I can't help but feel he's going to sacrifice himself to save another (Jecki, Osha, or Sol likely).

He certainly feels like he has the potential to push the boundaries of the Jedi way. He's following the rules to a fault, with an edge which suggests that he could actually end up resenting them (if he doesn't already). Even if that's not the case, and it's simply Jedi arrogance to foreshadow Yoda's comment about Anakin, I love that Charlie Barnett has been allowed to play him like that, with that spark of attitude. Should keep us on our toes!

Remember that along with his bad ideas, he also follows Osha in the backwater Jedi Temple and thus confirms that she didn’t kill Master Torbin.

He’s clearly not the brightest tool in the Jedi Shed, but he’s already more than a one-note cartoon character.

Yep I kinda felt as even if he tries to present himself as super serious and strict rules follower and also a bit too much self absorbed there is more under the surface and he may have genuine appreciation for Osha, if not somehing more maybe in the past... like it's what he is now but it goes into conflict with what he feels about Osha and what their relationship has been in the past (friends? siblings like? else? they for sure had somewhat of a close connection at a certain point).
He may end up being the typical nerd clumsy teen padawan with poor background and deemed ugly and uninteresting and "booooooring!" because he is a know it all ( I feel that)... that ends up being a hot well respected jedi and becomes self absorbed with his appearance and obsessed with the rules to get " a revenge" out of the years nobody liked him and he was an outcast?

    Or am I projecting much...?

I mean, he became a Jedi, so he’s not a total idiot.

His acting is also very good, which cuts against the “dumb swole Jedi” caricature. Headland is too smart to give us a total punching bag of a character. Already in ep2, there’s nuance there.

Yep I agree… I see a lot of nuance and a lot more under the ..” Jedi chiseled abs surface”.. I think if I would be working with him I would find him extremely irritating and insufferable at first and then start to find out there is a lot more and end up having an unconfessable crush for him that I would express by bantering relentlessly with him at every occasion…:D I may speak out of experience here ehhe

He seems to want to go in on the action. Makes sense for a young jedi knight.

    Intresting character so far.
Doesn't seem to be the best teacher though, just leaving his Padawan behind and not taking her with him. ;)
But more seriously I always find the dynamic intresting of a very young Knight taking a Padawan like Anakin/Ahsoka or Vernestra/Imri in the High Republic books.

It seemed like he was going to be the one pushing for Osha to be guilty but then he actually cleared her. I liked that little reversal and it made me like the character even more. He might be a little bit too much of a rule follower but he’s honest.

Yes, she’s the Jedi with him when they arrest Osha.
