The Hollywood Squares used to be the penultimate destination for aging, nearly forgotten television personalities after their shows had been cancelled and the offers for prime time guest tv spots had all dried up. This was the next logical step for Marshall.

 

I didn't watch HS regularly, but it's hard to deny that Triumph The Insult Comic Dog had some of the best moments on the show.
