Lit Comics Marvel Star Wars: General News & Trades Discussion Thread

Making Aphra a main character in the mainline series would be a good way to continue her story without having to do a third Aphra ongoing (something I don't think we need right now).

 

If we do ever get "Luke and co do jedi archeology" story, I think it would be fun to bring in the Shadow University as antagonists, going after the same ruins and artifacts with less altruistic goals and methods.

...I would also like to see Mika Grey brought in somehow.

 

So, the tease from Marvel for the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at NYCC turned out to be for Jedi Knights, an (ongoing? Maxi?) anthology series in which each issue tells a self-contained story focused on a different Jedi. Charles Soule also teased that he's working on a new series, but other than that it involves characters he has worked on in the past, there was little more revealed. No news on plans for the "flagship" series in 2025, unfortunately.

Little surprising I must say. Just to add everything up we have the Jakku series going on right now and that will last until around the end of the year. The new High Republic series starting in February. And now this.

It does feel strange that we haven't gotten a huge announcement of several new series yet considering the next big era has been being teased for awhile now. Maybe they are waiting for High Republic to finish up? Who knows. But it does feel like they are in a bit of a stalling mode right now.

Edit. Just read the official Marvel article and it isn't starting until March and it's going to take place prior to the PT.

So starting next year we won't have anything going on during the official movie time periods that we know of right now. Just High Republic and that Jedi series.

Pablo-Jill never died on Geonosis in either canon.

 

Well...the Jedi Knights series would grab my interest a little more if it were written by anyone other than Marc Guggenheim, whose work I’ve never especially connected with. But who knows. Greg Pak is one of my favourite writers and he failed me with Vader, so perhaps the reverse can be true here.

To be honest I’d completely forgotten about that. Could also be a Obi Wan and Anakin revival!

 

I like the idea of exploring more of the pre-TMP period. More non-clone wars prequel era is a good thing.

This is the perfect opportunity for an arc dealing with the Mandalorian Civil War, where Obiwan meets Satine.

Perhaps other “small scale” conflicts can be explored. Maybe a new canon version of the stark Hyperspace war.

 

He mentioned it was a cast he'd previously announced a return to and gotten gasps from that audience, so I'm thinking Lando and Lobot. But there's a Star Wars comics panel tomorrow, so it will probably be revealed then.

 

If they have a Star Wars comics panel tomorrow I wonder why they had a panel today. Just reveal everything in one show.

I guess it's just so they can give all the creators their time in the spotlight and that might not be feasible in just one panel.

Sorry about double post, but would be sick if this was simply Atha Prime’s backstory and they actually go full ahead with the original Kenner storyline post ROTJ

 

Preferbaly including the design of his clone warriors.
