Well I for one welcome our new Project 2025 overlords and would like to let them know I could be a big help in rounding up all those communists for work in the fields when they remove all the people working in those fields and throw them back across the border.

I will be very interested to see the impact of this deportation plan and its impact on undocumented workers living in America heading into Canada.

We already saw a rise in border issues the past 4 years within Canada. It was previously something rarely discussed up here. An American issue primarily. One we didn’t even fully fathom up here but this could be a whole other level. 11 million people is a lot. Our population is only 38 million up here.

If I am Jimmy Carter, I'm letting go now so at least Biden is the President overseeing my memorial.

And the Bidens, Obamas and Clintons absolutely should not show up on Inauguration Day. Let George Bush sit there alone.

I have no doubt that there’s a real opportunity for us to learn more about these people and process applications in ways to assess if they can make valuable contributions to Canada and would welcome any if we did so. I would even support the idea of many as refugee claimants given what might happen to them there now.

I just don’t want an open border policy where we turn a blind eye, pretend it’s not a threat or concern, have no idea who is here, who they are, when they arrived, etc.

Hopefully Canada begins preparing for what could be our highest border test yet in a century. Realistically though… the US Canada border is huge and largely unprotected. If these people found a way into the much more challenging US / Mexico border they are going to find entry into Canada a cake walk.

Anecdotally I saw my first van full of Mexican migrant workers recently where I live near the local Walmart. They were sitting outside it when I went in and then boarded up in a single van that picked them up. Such a thing is common in the US but in Canada where I live it’s the first time I’ve seen it. It almost certainly won’t be the last. I’ve also seen more people who appear to have Mexican heritage riding old bicycles up some of the sides of the highways (near the gravel) around here toward the farming areas. Like maybe 10-20 or so all riding together. Again, first time I’ve seen this around here. There are some farms in the area but they’ve always been there and I never saw migrant workers on the farms until the past year. So something has already changed to some extent.

A majority of Americans detest Donald Trump, and a majority of Americans voted for Donald Trump. I don't know exactly how people worked that out in their brains, something about how his detestable qualities are what make him an effective leader or something like that?

We’re all wrong. They’re just patriots who love the economy and know Trump made lots of money. ;-P

They can’t use it as the only excuse and not re-evaluate their message or they risk further alienating men away. They need to appeal to not only the men they lost already but also those who reluctantly voted Trump but are ashamed about it. Those are the types they can target and win back with a real middle class dad pitch in 4 years time.

Well, in the fake election exercise conducted in Puerto Rico, with 91% of the votes counted, Kamala Harris beat Donald Trump with 73.46% of the votes.

Also, in the non-binding plebiscite relating to status, statehood won with 56.8% of the vote.

Most people probably don't like Trump as a person. However Trump being an extremely unlikeable person doesn't affect their lives in a direct way. Increasing prices on groceries and a potential tax increase will.

Btw, the plan to radicalize men toward conservatism feels in retrospect to be perfectly executed.

    WWE
    UFC
    NASCAR
    Video games
    Genre TV and films
    Beer
    Male stand Up Comedy
    History podcasts

Anyone in any of these scenes online has seen how quickly and how often conservatives are recruiting and making things political. They successfully weaponized the idea of anything that doesn’t celebrate CIS white male culture is woke cancel culture war BS.

Pretty much solidifies my decision to leave my job before the new year. Higher Ed is almost certainly doomed. Might as well make six figures at a 9-5 and still be just as miserable but with more time to be miserable.

    Time to update that resume.

There's plenty more too. Lonely young men with growing resentment have been lured into online conservative **** too. (Andrew Tate stuff) Which then leans heavily into sexism and even other worse stuff.

I'm into history podcasts, and stuff, and over the past few years all of the ones I listened too started very subtly mentioning off hand conservative talking points. At first it was like "did he just say?', would roll his eyes and 'climate change', and then it became too much. And really obvious. So i stopped listening to them all.

Trump lost about 5 mil votes from his score in 2020. Harris lost over 15 mil from Biden's total count.

Harris lost more Dems voting for her than Trump lost Republicans voting for him.

Trump's policies will affect people negatively. Tariffs will wreck the economy, so will mass deportations, and worsening climate change. Trump's willingness to lie about COVID and hurricanes already got people killed, and it's just a preview of things to come. On top of that, Trump's corruption will turn us into a Russia-style oligarchy where the way to make a profit is by pledging fealty to the leader. We're going to miss the inflation of the Biden years when this is over.

Or maybe we won't. Republicans will surely suppress the truth and make excuses for the problems they created, just like Putin has in Russia. Some people prefer living with their heads in the sand. And they call themselves "red pills".

The gamergate stuff helped recruit an entire generation of young men into conservative politics and those guys can now vote. They started out as pubescent teens who liked big breasted female video game characters and playing games where males were the main playable characters and got lured into the echo chamber and converted.

The conservatives then set their sights on other aspects of nerd culture the same way. Including our beloved Star Wars. It starts as easy as courting those unhappy about really anything and then morphs into talks about wokeness and diversity and the decline of men in media. Then the comments only stay that way. We’ve all seen it.
