Oh wait, neither of those are anything to do with what I'm talking about. Money isn't the magic thing here, as former California governor Meg Whitman can attest

Don't worry, you'll get your Republican president in 2028, too.

I'm not sure if I'd put it quite that way. But I see what you mean because, from what I've been told, she isn't always good at debating. Plus, people have a visceral reaction to her based on how racist or misogynistic they are. Now, I like AOC. I'm sure I'd enjoy talking with her in person, and I've donated to her a few times since 2020. But I think it's going to be a challenge just to get the presidency back. I do think AOC made a good point that what Trump and the Republicans want is an authoritarian version of Jim Crow. So, she's probably on to something there. I mean, if we move toward a states' rights version of things, which would stink in many ways, I can see California and those aligned with California doing better economically. But right now, my main concern is for Trump's so-called enemies, immigrants, persons of color, and women seeing reproductive healthcare. This is a terrible mess.

Roy Cooper. Andy Bashear. Democrats will be looking for the next Bill Clinton. It will be deep red states with blue governors. That’s it.

The point is, when Trump ****s up the country, Democrats (or whatever's left of the opposition) need to BLAME him for it.

I like that you think Democrats aren’t as stupid as republicans, as if there is only one way to be stupid.

@Rylo Ken LOL! Do you think that matters in Missouri? The state government will throw all kinds of wrenches into it, just like in Ohio. That is why the Florida incentive did not matter even before Meatball Ron made it a 60% threshold. There was some odd voting going on this year. Missouri voted for nothing but crazy MAGA men who want to ban abortion in every state under any circumstance but voted to make it legal in the state while

I do think one thing we have going on for us in Illinois besides a bunch of education ballot incentives for funding won as people realized federal funding for education is going to be a thing of the past is that we will continue to see more old MAGA white voters leave the state and slowly be replaced by a younger, more diverse crowd, aka people who want to work and have initiative.

Edit: @Alpha-Red That is why they need to be the party of "no." Forget bipartisanship, that is a thing of the 20th century. Tell every single Democratic member of Congress to do nothing other then sit there with their hands in their pockets and let the MAGA Circus tear itself apart. When things get blown up (and I do think we are heading towards a future economic crisis) just look at Trump/Republicans and go, "it's their show, ask them".

How many times does Kamala have to state her policies before rants like this, comedy or not, hear them?

"At least it's not the other guy" is a very good reason.

Missouri will expand its child labor satellite program to all 50 states. Those children will also serve in Rylo Ken's Gleichschaltung program, as undocumented lawncare workers will be their direct competition.

That’s already what they’ve been aiming for. Perhaps it’s time to reach out to the true progressives instead of inching towards conservatism all the time in the hopes of wrangling Dick Cheney (honestly, who did his endorsement convince?)

Like, if someone is down for whatever Trump would do for “the economy” and “illegals” and such, why would they want a watered down version of it if they already buy into that? They pulled off 2020 with Biden being more or less that ideal recognizable “centrist” candidate, yes, but that was with COVID, George Floyd in very recent memory, and Kamala as his running mate. Honestly, if COVID were removed from the equation Trump probably would’ve won that year too. It isn’t working.

Another takeaway I have from this election is that when the next presidential election comes around if the economy is in the crapper the Dems should just spend all of their time talking about the economy and shouldn't waste their time talking about how awful MAGA is or access to abortion or human right in general because apparently basic human rights aren't concern to a lot of voters. It's just, "are you going to make me more money or not?"

I suspect you are talking about what she campaigned on, not how she campaigned. I'll invite you to contradict, but the near universal assessment has been that her campaign was a technically efficient operation in a way that Trump's clearly was not. That's clearly not the decisive factor here.

    Is it though?
People want to know about the economy, immigration, social care etc

They'll vote for who gives them the best reasons to do that.

    "I'm not Trump" isn't a reason.

It should be "tell me why I should vote for Harris", instead it became "why you shouldn't vote for Donald Trump"

Biden had a good economy but Fox News made everyone think otherwise:

You want to beat Republicans, you have to counter their propaganda.

If, and that's a big if, we have a fair election in 2028, maybe the Democrats should flip the ticket. Instead of Harris/Walz, run Walz/Harris. Put the white guy on top to solve the racism/sexism problems, now that he is nationally known, and leave Harris as VP until the country is ready for a black female president.

Harris is delivering a banger of a concession speech right now. Comments about a "peaceful transfer of power" and how accepting when you have lost is fundamental to democracy and essential for anyone seeking the public trust. Overall message is "we accept the results but will keep fighting for our values".

I think Walz would be useful as an opposition figure, but I don't think he ought to run again.
