    Harris:

‘we will have peaceful transfer of power,
but there will/should be no loyalty from us to any president, only constitution and conscience and God”

    Edit:
And giving really strong delivery of the ‘keep fighting and don’t despair, the fight goes beyond this election, never stop believing you can’t make the world be a better place’

    Edit 2:
we may be going into dark times, but stars shine brightest in the darkest of
    Nights’

campaign: work in an organized and active way toward a particular goal (here, that goal is becoming president)
how: in what way or manner; by what means

Putting the meanings of these two words together to "in what way or manner do they work in an organized and active way towards a particular goal", the decisions on what to focus on in making the case for the presidency very much are part of how someone campaigns for president. So yes, I mean how they campaign.

Yeah, both Walz and Harris are frankly poor quality candidates. I don’t see much future for them in the party, and most of the base will be relieved they don’t have to pretend to love them anymore.

It's that Vivec made the argument.
I know Ro Khanna and I share the same ethnicity but I'm not Ro Khanna and I shouldn't be held accountable for what he said.

Do you have 'high quality candidates'?

Congratulations on winning the pedantry award for 2024-2025. We can go back and forth on the most relevant definition at this moment (it's many times not the dictionary definition) or you could just use this interactive discussion board to discuss your actual ideas for what she should do differently, as I invited you last time. If you disagree that she didn't do enough door-knocking or whatever, you can say so. Or, if we agree that wasn't the problem, then you could just explain what you think the problem is.

AGAIN, she has stated her policies so much that the running joke was that Trump has "a concept."

You think maybe people just want a candidate who looks and sounds tough, regardless of their policy positions on anything?

One of her policies would have been game changing.

I said earlier people just want vibes. Policy doesn’t matter all that much. Maybe during primaries but in the election? No

The only age group Trump won was Generation X, it looks like.

Harris won Baby Boomers (and older), Millennials, and Z.

Musk is officially the embodiment of Generation X now.

They are too nice. The Democrats need a firebrand in 2028. I really do think the wheels are going to come off in the next four years with some sort of deep recession that causes a crisis (high inflation which is a world wide problem that was slightly off set by raising wages is a problem but not a crisis) is coming and the Democrats need a true firebrand at the helm to channel a lot of voter anger and drawn out the conservative echo chamber.

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/election-night-2024-tv-ratings-nov-5-1236055011/

And I know it's TV ratings but again people were tuned out this cycle incredibly. Voting was down almost everywhere. I didn't expect a turnout like 2020 which was the most in a century but it should been a more voted on election.

I agree with this but also if Bernie had the winning formula years ago why didn't he get the nomination? I suppose people will say because the establishment worked against him?

So how did he win the popular vote or the election? Did 50 year olds really come out for him?

Examples of high-quality candidates from the Democrat side in recent years would be Obama, (Bill) Clinton, Sanders. I’m not grading them on policies, just ability to campaign.

In my opinion conservatives call Kamala a socialist they couldn’t handle an actual socialist. This country is to right for it

I was talking more now then I am about past candidates. Who do you think is a high quality candidate of now

You don't get to complain that you lost a pedantry contest that you decided to start just because you started it with weak footing.

Or disingenuously pretend you now want to 'discuss' anything (particularly with your disingenuous question given that I had already talked about some particulars of how I thought she was campaigning poorly).

This is the puzzling thing. When Dems try to reach the working class they're socialists either self described or labeled as such by MAGA but when Trump reaches out to the working class it works for him even though he detests the working class.

Well they didn’t have great options this cycle (largely a self-inflicted wound from neglecting a primary), but I’d argue Shapiro, Whitmer and Newsom were all higher-quality candidates than either Harris or Walz.

He won “enough” of the other generations, and a big enough majority of Generation X.

But Generation X being a good part of the country’s Trump-majority is only part of it, the other big demographic news are Trump’s supermajority of men
and the growing Hispanic support for Trump.

    Nope.

At least 95% of the Democratic Party leadership, including both halves of the 2024 ticket, should be fired into the Sun and never seen again.

I used your post to make a point: that in many of the conventional metrics of campaign performance, she did quite well. It was a riff off your comment, but not an explicit disagreement with it. I think viewing the totality of my posts in this thread (or even this whole topic) since vote tabulation began, no one would call me disingenuous. But whatever. Discuss or don't.

This was a weird direction to take things, Vivec. I'm not Ender.
