Discussion Simon Kinberg to Write SW Trilogy of Movies

Deadline says episode 10-12 and others says its not. Jeff Sneider belives its 10-12. You can says its a new saga because outside of Rey Skywalker its all new characters.

With him already strong ties to LFL i think this will stick. He got great relationship with them and is not an outsider.

 

As long as the rumors of him and Filoni having a falling out are false, that is.

Btw, didn’t Disney have an earnings call today? Did anyone on there ask about the Kinberg thing? And if so, did Iger say anything other than “no comment”?

 

If this is Episodes 10-12 it better not just be Rey back. They need to bring Finn and Poe back as well.

While I agree, one thing that leads me to believe it could be true is that Kinberg supposedly wanted Ezra and Sabine to become a romantic item, which Filoni wasn’t a fan of, hence why Kinberg wasn’t involved with the last season of Rebels.

 

But he was involved with Rebels from beginning to the Finnish. I can see them having disagreements like GL and Filoni had in the Clone Wars.

 

You’re right. I was under the impression that he left before the last season, but I just checked, and he was still involved with the finale.

 

All this talk about a new trilogy sure is fun.

is Star Wars still dead?

 

Maybe this is what has caused so much Creative Differences with the Rey movie. Finding the ending // Fitting it in after the ST // Setting up what comes next.

And maybe now they've moved towards a new Future Trilogy. Maybe ideally liked they the Rey movie to be used as an in-between stepping stone and ever-shifting strategy is causing the rifts with creatives.

Or....nobody knows.

 

The new Trilogy will be about The New Jedi Order as its moving to take over the Republic as the new leaders. As shown you cant trust a politician, but a munk who sees the light can lead it

 

Jeff Sneider says on his podcast that he has a great SW source and he’s been told that the Kinberg trilogy is indeed episodes 10, 11 and 12. Sneider also doesn’t believe the Obaid-Chinoy film is going to happen.

 

You know what this is, there’s a Star Wars Celebration in the spring in Japan, so they need something to showcase.

 

So just his opinion. I wait until he got source for that.

 

Sneider says Kathleen Kennedy will be stepping down as president of Lucasfilm in the very near future.

 

Well yes of course

 

I said this yesterday, but D23 Brazil is this weekend, and Lucasfilm is part of tomorrow's movie panel. Obviously they're going to showcase Skeleton Crew and probably talk a bit about The Mandalorian and Grogu, but I don't think it's coincidental that all of the Hollywood trades received this story two days before Lucasfilm is part of a major Disney studios showcase.

 

Crazy to think how much has changed since the last time a Star Wars trilogy was announced. There’s hardly any enthusiasm this time around.

 

If this is indeed going to be 10, 11 and 12, then I think its safe to say the Rey film has either been jettisoned altogether, or has found new life in this trilogy.

Grogu as a padawan or Knight please. This is the way.

 

Probably because this is the 10th movie announced or reported was in development.

Everyone is just kinda waiting for it to end up on the shelf or just delayed for years.

 

Sneider believes there’s a chance Simon Kinberg becomes Lucasfilm’s answer to what James Gunn is with DC.

I think this is for real all the trade papers and big media is reporting it even John Rocha and Geek Buddies did a whole show about it!

Could people be mistaking the Kinberg Film with the Rey film being the start of a Trilogy written and produced by Kinberg? Or was the Rey film scrapped for The Kinberg trilogy? Has anyone brought this up is it being talked about?

I want an old republic trilogy. That and a DoTJ movie are the best ways for Star Wars to have a “fresh start” on the big screen. More so then a mando movie or Rey one.
