Skeleton Crew Skeleton Crew 1.05 - Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

I have to say, using a giant magnet to cause At Achrann to fly through space and magnetically attach itself to At Attin was a bold idea that would never have occurred to me.

 

Now, just now, ocurred to me tomorrow's episode is on Christmas Eve and those poor children are gonna miss Christmas this year.

 

What is this 'Christmas'? Is it like some local Life Day celebration?

 

I was absolutely giddy when Rowan Freemaker turned up to rebuild KB's visor after it blew trying to reprogram SM-33.

 

I was surpised to see Danny DeVito show up as himself

 

And then Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner showed up and started singing with Billy Ocean during the montage of the kids and Jod flying to the other planets, and Danny's wearing a white suit with white shoes and playing the saxophone. And the episode being called The Jewel of the Republic. I understood that reference.

 

The ode to Alien with the little SM-33a popping out of SM-33 after the off switch activated him was both cute and disturbing.

 

Merry christmas to the forum, probaly won't watch it when appears on D+, but will watch after the christmas dinner here.

 

I knew the supervisor was actually GLaDoS! Talk about a deep cut

 

I was not surprised that the rat living in SM-33's head was the original captain. Hardy little critters, they are, like giant furry tardigrades. I was doubly not surprised when he popped out of the eye and screamed "Aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye-aye" rallying his old crew who are back on the ship.

 

So we're going planet hopping...to another At 'something' and we get At Atlas which helps them all find At Attin!!

 

Will this be the episode with the buffet?

 

Neel correcting Jod’s “Happy Life Day” to “happy holidays”?! Cancelling my Disney Plus subscription, that was the final straw.

 

Not again.


That was just a really fun and amazing episode.

 

Wow, great episode! SC continues to be a solid show and Jude Law continues to impress. Some genuinely amusing and funny lines/actions. Then another dark turn of events at the end. Did I mention Jude Law continues to impress?

 

Yeah, this is by far the best of the Disney+ Star Wars shows

 

I know some people will really groan at the idea, but now that a lightsaber is in play, I’m wondering if Luke is gonna come into the picture in the end and fight Jod. And maybe, just maybe… he’s a canonized version of Kam Solusar?!

Great episode, Last Crusade tinted, story is churning along nicely, I have no complaints about this show.

 

That would ruin this. Keep Skeleton Crew as its own corner of the GFFA.


I really didn't want more Jedi showing up...but for Jod I will make an exception.

 

Well, I’m for any sort of new Luke content, to be honest. And it would pay off Wym’s plot line of wanting to meet a Jedi. And let’s say Jod IS Kam Solusar, would be a foundation to having New Jedi Order stuff. And Wym probably ends up being force sensitive. I think Star Wars is in a desperate position right now where they have to get back to the mania of the Mando season 2 finale they totally squandered in the long run. We should’ve had consistent Luke stuff after that.

 

Best present of the season. Best episode yet even if they never got to search the buffet. Jod's redemption arc just got a lot more complicated. As amusing as it was when Wim tried the light saber, it was equally shiver inducing when Jod turned it on. While I can make a lot of guesses about what happens next, I actually have no clue.

The acting in this series continues to be a standout. The kids were scared and Jod was evil. Dissolving the pirates in acid is mildly evil, the way he threatened Fern was a real bad guy move. At least we know what the treasure, which put in mind of the Andor heist.

Go Wim and the other kid's parents.

 

I may be going out on a limb here...but I don't think there is a nefarious purpose behind what Jod did. He is simply trying to take control of the situation by getting control of SM-33 so he does not have to work through Fern to get him to do things. I got a feeling the kids will get in trouble in the next episode and Jod will be the one to get them out of it.

 

Yeah, I get the feeling that Jod is going to turn out to be good in the end as well. Also really nice to see Muuns again and I hope this means we can see their models in the background of projects more

 

I was never really excited about this show when it was announced and after the let down of the acolyte (which had potential to be the best)
I really had low expectations.

The first couple of episodes were really good and they keep getting better each week.
Now after every episode my expectations are surpassed.

This show is great !

I was thinking (hoping) the same thing
