Simply from the standpoint of how does he know the Force and how to use a lightsaber. Other that that I really don't need the 3 book series on every moment of his life.

The kids and Jod returning to At Attin was some good cinematography.
Tak Rennod is somehow involved with the Supervisor.
    Full 1984 vibes.

Still more unexpected twists and turns, and a killer cliffhanger. Do we really have to wait a whole week to see what happens next? [face_nail_biting]

    …yes there is

We need to start caring about what is happening in these shows, and the intrigue was already built up with the force related stuff. I’m getting so sick and tired of them edging us along to absolute nothingness with the mystery box BS.

If there is no backstory present in the final episode, it’s because some guy in a suit who studies algorithms for Disney Plus was given control of the Final Cut and decided the audience was too dumb to care about anything important besides the plot moving from one thing happening to the next, like most of the other marvel and Star Wars Disney Plus stuff

The communication drone that the parents make totally reminded me a bit like E.Ts ship when it lifted up out of the forest.

    Weak:
Pirates back and forth with Jod and the rules for being captain.
Jod (Jude Law's acting in this ep was a bit eh for me. Especially when trying to scare the kids and when holding the gold.
The parents hologram speeches. Again, weirdly written or acted. Really flat.
    .
    Great
The descent into the At Attin and the electrical beacons.
    Killing Brutus.
    The underground vaults
The droid voices (very um...Joshua from War Games)

I'd give the first half a 5. And the later half an 9.

An interesting thing might be that Jod the Pirate is just a product of the Old Republic's and the Jedi's failures. That he pretty much rips both to pieces to the kids about the Republc caring more about keeping the rich rich and the powerful in power..and that the Jedi were not the 'great heroes' of Wim's stories. That they took children from their families and indoctrinated them for their own purposes. Yes somewhat slanted...but also very factual.

There is no mystery box anywhere. You decided that Jude Law owes you an explanation about why he's force sensitive, but the show is not about that. The show is about At Attin and the kids. And what's happening with the treasure on At Attin. And whether the pirates will get it or not. Jod's background is NOT essential to the story, and does not affect the story at all. Only his present status affects the story. And as far as we are concerned, his present status is that he knows how to use a lightsaber and he's ruthless enough to have placed himself on the verge of stealing a ton of dataries.

That's just headcanon. There is nothing to suggest that the creators of this show had scenes for that episode, that some editor cut from the final cut. There is NO WAY that this happened. Also, your opinion about the rest of the Star Wars Disney Plus is obviously subjective. I care about the characters and the plot and all the elements of all of these shows:
    Kenobi
    Mando
    Ahsoka
    Andor
    Boba Fett

And I think they were made with love and presented us the story that the makers wanted to. Whether someone likes them or not, that's a different story.

Literally none of that happened though.

In what way did none of that happen? The Old Republic was corrupt and the Jedi literally took kids from their families and trained them in the Jedi beliefs.

Yes it is. We had two separate cliffhangers telling you to tune in next week to find out more about Jude Law (the top billed actor) and his amazing force abilities. If there’s no context or character development in that regard it’s totally JJ Abrams mystery box stupidity.

Better get a book or comic soon though.

The Old Republic being corrupt doesn't mean that the parents of the kids in the show and that every citizen of every world is responsible for the corruption in the Senate and the fact that the few rich corrupt took advantage of the state of the galaxy with the help of Palpatine.

The Jedi literally never took a single kid without permission from the family and without asking the kids if they wanted to be Jedi. Every single kid that became a Jedi had a much better life as a Jedi, and/or they could leave the Jedi Order AT ANY POINT of their lives. The Jedi WERE the great heroes in Wim's stories. Did you miss the point where they were massacred from the evil dudes because they were the only ones that resisted the oppression of the Sith? Or the point where dozens of those died in service of the Republic and while saving lives? How is this even a debate anymore?

"Indoctrinated" , yeah that's not what happened.

I, personally, really, really want something of Jod's backstory. However, after about 15 minutes of soul searching, I can still consider this show as close to perfection as possible without it. (Yes, it could all devolve, but I'm in total denial about that possibility.) In ANH, we get enough bits of Vader's story to connect with. Moff Gideon always fell a bit flat because he had no backstory, other than successful, narcissistic, Empire bad guy.

Given what we've seen so far in SC, they can give a Grand Canyon's worth of depth in under two minutes. I'm betting, that some kernel about Jod will be thrown our way.

I never said that every citizen of the Old Republic was corrupt...but as an institution it was. And while the Jedi never took a child without a parent's consent...was that really the best thing in every situation? And yes..."Indoctrinated"..they took children and controlled their education for years with no outside influences or conflicting view points.

Jude Law was cool and absolutely stole the episode. Now let us hope he doesn't turn good suddenly in the last moment of the last episode.

SM-33 turning on the pirate crew randomly just because Fern said "unclaimies" made no sense at all.

Brutus was kinda wasted. Didn't do much in the entire series.

All you need is one more 'heart to heart' convo between Jod and Wim.

Wim already reveres the idea of the heroic Jedi. He believed the Republic and the Jedi were still around.as its protectors. Jod represents a harsh reality beyond the barrier that Wim knew nothing about. He could yell at Wim to grow up, to stop with the childish fantasies. He could be like "A long time ago I was training to be one. But I watched my master cut down one day, alone with all of them. In one day it was all gone. I was kid. Like you. And then I grew up".

A line or two of dialog is all that's needed. Especially if it helps Wim's character arc because its a mirror to Jod's own history.

IDK what any of this has to do with the episode, so let's just move on Chris, Fixxxxer, IG. Cap'n's orders. Take any weird tangents about Jod to his own thread.

The mistery to me lies in something Wyn's dad said: the children was supposed to know the truth only they became adults.
    What truth?
Did the adult population of At Atin know the fate of the old Republic ? Did they know about the Empire, the civils wars, the New Republic all along but kept it secret from younglings?
If so, that's probably darker than Silvo actions
The pirate code is more a guide line than actually a law :p
