One last adjustment. Send Biggio down to the minors and call up Chris Hoiles and put Hoiles in Biggio’s spot vs LHP.

I'm unconvinced that Brago Roth is a real person, to the point where I would only be less certain he was real if @AutumnLight91 tried to sign him.

Cleveland fans probably wish he hadn't existed, as he was part of the return that sent Shoeless Joe to Chicago. Womp womp.

It's the name they would have given Babe Ruth in a video game that was not officially licensed.

    Amazing.

Rosters Spreadsheet is updated with recently acquired IntyBucks and players. If you signed a player or three, I have added newly signed players to your scouting spreadsheets.

And now ... let's play some baseball because the snow is starting to be ****ing depressing

    FODEUSS GAME OF THE WEEK
Brought to you by Captain Jack

    Friday, June 15th, 1990
stone temple seattle pilots at Game of Throws
    Olympic Stadium; Montreal, Quebec
    7:35 PM
    14,560 in attendance

The game was a true pitching duel between Cy Blanton of stone temple seattle pilots and Matt Harvey of Game of Throws. Harvey would work around a leadoff double from the first batter of the game – Paul Hines – and Blanton would work around a one-out double from Charlie Smith in the second inning, but we would be scoreless heading into the third inning.

Bill Dahlen would lead off the third with a walk, and then a double from George Wright would have pilots on 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. But, Harvey retire Paul Hines and Eddie Collins, giving him a chance to get out of the inning, only to have a passed ball let Dahlen score before he would retire Willie Mays to end the inning.

Game of Throws would look to answer, with a leadoff double from Richard Hidalgo in their half of the inning, but Blanton would escape without giving up a run. George Wright would double with one out in the top of the 5th inning, but the pilots wouldn’t be able to capitalize on it. The pilots would get two two-out singles and an intentional walk to Tommy Holmes to load the bases in the top of the sixth, but a fly out from Dahlen kept it just a 1-0 game.

A single, a wild pitch, a walk, and a balk had the tying run on third and the go-ahead run on second with two outs in the bottom of the 6th for Game of Throws, but Blanton retired Jesse Burkett on a ground out to end the inning. The pilots would again load the bases in the 7th, this time with a single from Paul Hines, an intentional walk to Mays, and a single from Cal McVey, only to fail to score again as Bill Dickey grounded out.

Game of Throws would go to the bullpen, ending Harvey’s night at 7 innings pitched with just the one unearned run on 7 hits. Emmanuel Clase was called on in relief, and he gave up a one-out double to Tommy Holmes, but retired Dahlen and Wright to keep it at 1-0.

Blanton’s night would also end after seven innings, with his final line of zero runs allowed on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts against 3 walks. Andrew Miller would be called from the arm barn, and retire the only two batters he faced. Nolan Ryan would then come in and walk a pair, putting the lead in danger, before striking out Charlie Smith to end the inning.

So, onto the top of the ninth, with the pilots looking for an insurance run, and Willie Hernandez on to pitch for Throws. A Paul Hines ground out opened the inning, but a single from Eddie Collins put that insurance run on base, and a Willie Mays ground out moved Collins to second. Cal McVey was intentionally walked, to bring up Bill Dickey … who would not be able to deliver, flying out to center field to send us to the bottom of the ninth, still with stsp up 1-0.

Van Mungo was summoned to try to finish the game off, and the Shockmaster struck out Burkett to open the inning. Yogi Berra then flew out to center for the second out, bringing up Richard Hidalgo as the home team’s final hope. Alas, he would make weak contact with the first pitch he saw from Van Mungo, and a routine 4-3 putout would end this game with the beautiful final score of 1-0

Final Score: stone temple seattle pilots 1, Game of Throws 0
    Win: Blanton (5-5)
    Loss: Harvey (3-8)
    Save: Mungo (13)
Player of the Game: Cy Blanton

    BREAKING NEWS

For the first time in FODEUSS history, we had a game shortened due to inclement weather. It happened in the June 16th game between Reseda Free Fallers and Every City Bandwagoners.

An error by Pee Wee Reese followed by a double from Derek Jeter scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Bandwagoners. They would be holding that lead after five innings, when the skies opened up and rain caused the tarp to come out. After only a short deliberation, the umpires made the decision to call the game and give the shortened 3-0 win to the Bandwagoners.

Urban Shocker got the win in that one, pitching all five innings and allowing just three hits, lowering his ERA to 0.75 on the season and simultaneously making us think heels might be a genius for drafting him, but also thinking heels is an idiot for having him in the minors for so long.

An "anonymous" tip from a former FODEUSS GM/Owner that heels has secret weather manipulating machine that he used to help secure this victory is not being investigated by the Office of the Commissioner at this time.

OOTP must not model weather very well if this is the first rain-shortened game ever. How many have been rained out and rescheduled entirely? I know of just one, and IIRC it was my season opener the year I played and so we saw the dialog box pop up live.

There's def been more, but also given the number of "rain delay for x minutes" that I've seen I like to think the Office of the Commissioner forces teams to not be widdle babies about the weather and play through it.
