What does it mean connected to the Skywalker saga ? characters, the era, ?

 

Yeah. I know. Not going further into that discussion really. It was a reply to a poster that argued for her involvement not being linked with the Skywalker Saga in any way. Bloodline or not, it does not matter. If she is in it ( Shawn Levys film) just for a small cameo, i guess audiences would not really care about anything related to Skywalker at all.

 

Agreed. I think for Lucasfilm, “not connected to the Skywalker saga” is an incredibly loose term for anything that’s not an Episode. The Acolyte is connected in a loose sense, but those connections likely would’ve become more explicit in a second season. I can’t think of a single other piece of media in the past ten years that’s wholly disconnected. Vader shows up in the Jedi games, the live action and animated TV series and standalone films tie directly in or feature central characters, etc. The only one that sounds genuinely disconnected is the Dawn of the Jedi movie.

Wasn’t previously that interested in this movie, but Ryan Gosling is an excellent and versatile actor so I’m now pretty excited. Maybe we’ll get an official announcement at Celebration in April?

Im pretty sure I’ve seen rumours that this film is set after TROS, and that Rey could have a small role in it. But that could be wires being crossed.

Anyway, roll on Jedi Ken.

Jeff Sneider still believe Rey will have a small role. But Rocha gives small rant it will all be white males from now on, lol.

 

Owen and Beru making a triumphant comeback would make this the film to end all films.

 

That rant from Rocha was embarrasing to say the least. Just had to turn if off. Life is better without listening to garbage like that. Anyway, Snejder said in his newsletter that he is working on some good Star Wars sccop.

Nice to hear that Rey is still in the game (for now). I’m cool with it even just being a cameo. If she is gonna be an old lady, though, I’d rather have Daisy in makeup than a different actress, but beggars can’t be choosers.

 

I think cameo or in supporting role. This might be more New Republic centric movie.

Honestly that would be the best way to explain it still being called The New Republic, and not The New NEW Republic, or anything else.

 

Like the government was not disbanded, only was set back

 

The government was literally obliterated. That's more than a setback. But I agree that they should just call it the New Republic or just the Galactic Republic.

 

Republics don't work. I want a constitutional monarchy Galactic Kingdom, so we can finally see some stable, proper governance introduced into the GFFA.

 

Whatabout all those Just People Lando called for the battle of Exegol, can't they run the galaxy?

The older I get, the more I think maybe Churchill was right. Democracy is the worst possible form of government, with the exception of everything else that's ever been tried.

 

Can always go with the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances if you a clunky call back.

Bit more seriously, I also like the Alliance of Free Planets briefly used in legends before the New Republic, or Independent Systems Alliance mentioned in canon as an alternative to New Republic in-universe.
